It is a real pain to get to. Just to let you know that mine was really torqued on good. I ended up crushing the oil filter just trying to get it off.

I really didn't think it was very hard to get off, you certainly can't do it over the top of the engine if thats what you doing. Crawl under the truck and just reach up to it with a filter wrench, there's plenty of space.

Thats why I pay to have the oil changed. $35.00 at the dealership. Oil, filter, fluids, lube, inspection and any updates taken care of all at the same time.

Glad to hear you can get a wrench in there.

My 05 was a pain in the rear the first time as well. I think Dodge puts them on dry.

Heard an ugly rumor that they also do not take the 090 Mopar filter. Almost ALL Dodge vehicles do. That is a pain....

i put a K&N in last time to make it easier. that way i can get to the nut on the bottom of the filter which will make it a lot easier to take off.

They do not take the Mopar 090 filter, that is a fact.

I agree, the filter location is a PITA. Oil drips all over everything when you take it off.

Yep mine was on pretty tight, I did get it from the top, stood on a milk crate and reached down and loosened it. I couldn't get enough leverage on the wrench from bottom. Also it leaks oil on everything. The new filter is PH-2 Fram or its equilvant.
