Does anyone know if or when does a fuel saving mode light comes on a 09 Ram. IE like a 300c does?

 

Rams built before December don't have a light, so start there....

both trucks were built Feb 20th. both trucks have 1000 plus mile on them now. Ok back to the drawing board

 

might be simpler if you just said what you were trying to get at; like are you asking why you'd see the light in one truck but not the other, etc.?

The light is part of the EVIC. If you don't have an EVIC (like an ST) you'll never have a light no matter what your build date. If you do have an evic, and build date says you should have the light, it may or may not be enabled to show up in the evic. Procedure in the manual addendum for enabling/disabling it.

 

well both trucks are slt with big horn group and guess what they have evic. Both trucks were built feb 20th. thats what i am getting at and trying to say why dont both of these trucks light comming on...o and they do got a HEMI and hay thanks for the advice, ill look on how to enable/disable or pass it on!

 

mine says "Fuel Saver" in the lower corner of the EVIC.
if you go to the setup option on the EVIC, its a selection to have this on or off.
basically its in fuel saver mode whenever my foot is of the accelerator pedal!

 

While the exact date may be in question the basic is early 09s do not have it, later do. The tester that I drove was just delivered to the dealer less than two weeks ago, it had the light that Joe mentions.
