Oh, and if I might add:
You're gonna hear it about your driving either way, so you may as well go ahead and drive HTF you want to.

65-70 is optimal, but it you sounds like you'll be filling up quiet a few times so you should be able to figure it out for yourself after the first two or three tanks.

why not fly? true cost to own per mile according to edmunds.com is $0.60! 5000 miles would thus be $3000

And it would save you a lot of time and hassle with the wife

my wife has only been in america for about 5 years (from peru) and shes only been to vegas.. i want to show her the real america and show her what country life is like.

She thinks everywhere is like LA.. id like to take her to a place where there are trees on the side of the highway... grass in between freeway sides... I plan on moving back to Indiana once my business is set up to where i dont have to baby sit it..

Im paying over $2000 a month rent and i dont even have a back yard...

I drive 7 miles to work each day on a 14 lane highway and it takes 50 minutes...minimum

I need to get back to country life and at least 5 acres of land...

I say set the cc on 60 and enjoy the views...

When my kids were little I gauged the mph by this:

Kids/wife sleeping=60 mph
Wife awake kids still sleeping=65 mph
Kids/wife awake=70 mph
Kids awake wife sleeping=75 mph
Kids and or wife screaming=pedal to the metal and look for a bar!!!

I had between 21.0-21.5 showing for several hundred miles with the cruise control set on 76-77. There was little wind, air was cool & dry, and I was in 4-cyl mode a good deal of the time. After that I ran into bad storms and traffic and finished the 900 mile trip w/ 19.0 MPG indicated. My truck is 2WD with 3.92 gears and 20" wheels.
