Default Jackpot!! New Hood?

OK, so you guys may have seen my post last week regarding the hail damage I received on my truck.

Well, I went to get the estimate today and the total came out to $4,100. The interesting part is that the check is made out to me...my name only.

So with that said...should I go with the twin scoop hood? Has anyone priced one or can they tell me where to find one?

I'll have to see the cost to see if it is worth my while, but i'm interested in looking to see if it's feasible.

Any help would be appreciated finding this on the internets. I tried google, but keep getting the wrong year models.

Glad you are getting it repaired. I hated reading that story.

Lee Parts had it. Orginally posted a link I have on ...how to make it look tougher. Link is dead now and they do not have it on their site anymore.

Mopar has it. Your dealer can order it. $948.00 then add paint.

You would be crazy if you didn't go with the twin scoop hood! It'll be a PITA to order it and get it painted but it will be totally worth it.

They still have it up there: http://www.leeparts.com/2009_dodge_r...ed_scoops.html Maybe they moved the link. Incidentally that's my local dealer back home, they've always treated me pretty well.

Nice happy to hear you got the check in your name, My truck has been to the shop twice for the same hail damage and still have 7 bad spots on the hood, they did a good job on the rest of the truck but are having big issues with the hood.

I will give them one more try then get my insurance involved and ask for a new hood.

its really not a PITA, I had the SRT hood for my 04, got it for 500 beans, took to another dealer with a paint shop (maroone dodge), they painted it for about 600, picked it up 4 days later and my dad and I put it on in 30 minutes, sold my other hood for 200 after hurricane wilma blew threw.

Update:

Well, after seeing the shipping and that not even including paint I was leary of making the change.

Then, went to the collision center and they said they'd try PDR and let me pocket some money.

Well, they got everything out of the hood. Hood looks fantastic. I went over the truck for about 45 minutes in the parking lot when I picked it up.

Only problems were that they missed two small dents on the pass. door and when they fixed one dent, it cracked the paint. I pointed it out to them, and I'll be getting all that fixed this week.

Had my bachelor party this past weekend, so I used some of the savings at the casino.

Got my baby back and she's looking great again, so I'm happy. Would have been nice to get that hood though...maybe some time down the road.
