How long to wait for a bedliner?
I went back to the dealer I bought my truck from and ordered an under the rail bedliner for my truck. I bought the truck on Feb. 28th, and went back in on March 30th to order it. I talked to the parts dept. beforehand and the guy told me that it would take a couple days to get it. Maybe even a day depending on what time of day he ordered it. So, I went in there and ordered it on March 30th in the late afternoon. He told me a couple days. Well, I get a call like 15 minutes later from the parts guy telling me that it was going to be the next week. Fine, one week to wait isn't a big deal. Well, its going on 3 and a half weeks now. I contacted him last week(the 14th) about where it was and the supplier told him it would be at the dealer on the 22nd. Well, it's the 23rd and still nothing.
So, I am wondering, did anyone else order an under the rail bedliner after the fact and did it take this long to get it. It is what it is, but I am just curious.

I got mine thrown in on the deal the day I bought it. The dealer said that they were just starting to get them in stock and that it would probably take ten days for me to get mine. I called once a week until I got it. It took about three weeks. The last time I called though the parts guy told me that it had been in but somehow got lost in their system and apologized. So with that being said I believe mine arrived in two weeks even though it took me three weeks to get it.
Well, at least I am not alone in this at least. The worst part of it is that I haven't been able to haul anything in the truck yet. I really need the truck for hauling this weekend and I thought giving almost a months time would be enough for me to have it by this weekend. Maybe not.
I don't have any experience with Line-X type bedliners, but I am thinking maybe I should have gone that route. Oh well. The one thing I am not looking forward to is putting holes in the tailgate to mount that part of the bedliner to it.

OK, an update.
I got a call from the dealer on Friday finally saying my bedliner was in. It was almost a month. So, I drove down there to pick it up and it was a Penda bedliner! Now, I have absolutely nothing against Penda and as a matter of fact, my '93 Dakota has a Penda in it and it is great. But, I was wanting a MOPAR bedliner with either the Rams head or the HEMI emblem in the bed. I didn't say anything that day because I was just fed up with it all(I have been having some other monetary issues with this dealer too that I am having a hard time getting resolved). So I just said, "I have a liner, its fine, whatever." But, it got me thinking, Penda bedliners are out of Portage, WI and I live at the most an hour from there, so the dealer is maybe an hour and a half away and it took 4 weeks to get it there? I don't get it.
So, I paid $230 and waited 4 weeks for a Penda. I was never offered anything different for options when I went to order the bedliner. All I told the guy was I wanted a bedliner and could he give me some prices. So, he told me three options: non-skid resistant, skid-resistant(which is what I got), and the Bedrug. So, I just assumed that I was getting a MOPAR product when I ordered it.
What do you guys think about that? Any comments? Did I get taken on this? Should I do anything about it?
The one plus is that I didn't have to put any holes in the tailgate like I thought. It installed using the factory torx bolts that hold the cover for the tailgate mechanism on. The one plus though.

My thoughts? I ordered a bedliner from the factory (I ordered my truck). I wonder if this will slow the production of my truck. I also expect Dodge, a Ram head or something in mine. To me it sounds like your dealer got tired of waiting and you calling so they got an aftermarket one.
All the trucks at my dealer have a plastic drop in with the Ram's head at the front. They are pretty slick so it may be the non-skid resistent version your dealer offered. Maybe they have a deal with Penda since they are so close... Is it covered under your warranty like a Mopar part should be? Sticker on my dealers liners was $205.
