For those of you running AMSOIL, you need to be aware of what that brand of oil will do over time.
I am having a hard time finding the link that proves what I am about to say, and if I find it I will post it.
For people that run amsoil in their vehicle for extended periods of time, the oil will slowly change to a higher viscosity.
The lab report that I read showed at a starting weight of 5W20.
at the end of 24,000 miles (I think) the oil viscosity was rated at 15W40.
This is bad news for those of you running the Hemi with its VVT or VCT MDS.
I hope Hammer sees this post, because I know he has the link for it....

I stated that the MDS still function after 50000+ miles. I still dont believe that the MDS is affected by oil viscosity. MDS is electronic/mechanical the computer has to tell the engine to stop using 4 cylinders IMHO and OPINIONS are like BUTHOLES everyone has ONE......

You are right about opinions, but since MDS still has a mechanical approach along with electronic control, there is room for errors.

I read a few times.... I will stick with my Amsoil (MDS sitll worked even after 50K+ miles in my 06 Ram... and due to the fact I drive 20K plus a year. I have also read the patent on the MDS system and it has more to do with Oil temp instead of viscosity.....

I just wanted to add a few things about the web article stateing the viscosity increase....
You cannot have one test vehicle and rely on the results....
Regarding this website http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/stories/amsoil.html this study was performed by an individual and not through laboratory testing. It was also only performed in one vehicle and not repeated to determine if the results were consistant enough. This was also performed over five years ago, and is not representative of AMSOIL’s current formulations.
Just my opinion........
