Have you thought about an Extang Tri-Fecta? I put one on my new Laramie about a week ago - I am really impressed. Bought it online with the premium fabric for $435 including shipping.

 

$435? Spend a few more dollars and get a $575 Bakflip hard cover, looks great and offers good protection.

 

Call the manufacturer and say WTF?

 

thats the way its designed. just give it a good hard shut! we have a plastic cap on our tailgate anyway so nothing will get messed up. also. i have had the extang trifecta.(same top but vinyl instead of alum.) on a ranger for a long time. shuts just as hard, onto a painted tailgate surface. no damage whatsoever....
