I paid 200 for 2 CCD Sharp 1/3 cameras, they work great and at night too. You will need a Lock Pick or Nav to go

I have to agree, having the truck pre-wired defeats the camera being an option.

However, vehicle manufacturers could make factory radio units more along the standard industry lines - with sub outputs and now RCA inputs on anything with a screen.

I am thinking about getting one installed on my 09 Ram Crew Cab tomorrow, dealer has 1 left in stock for $299, plus $324 to install.

My point about having the audio/nav system pre-wired had to do with the lack of "plug and play" options. The fact that a camera option had to be "hard wired" into the factory system is just a money grabber. I undertstand the rationale behind having options for buyers and I agree. The poiint about "dumb down laramies' is completely out of context. It would make far more sense if the factory systems offered standard video input. Of course that would open their options to third-party products - which is not in their interests. Anyway, I found the mygig lockpick and it answered my question. It's exactly what I was seeking. I am now good to go.

It's only a $200 factory option. Is the lock pic hard to install and where do you get it.
