4.7 with mild hesitation
Anyone else experiencing any hesitation with their 4.7 powered ram?
I notice it the most when accelerating slowly. To me it feels like there may be some minor misfiring going on. It's nothing major and at this point I am not really concerned about it as much as it is something I have come to notice.

Yeah, I figured I might get that.
If you don't know already it is the wife's truck so I had very little say in it. I wanted the hemi but.................she really liked the looks of the TRX. I don't know if the TRX is available with the Hemi but unfortunately the wife did not care. She saw 310hp and said "thats plenty of powah huh, more than the previous years right?". I just agreed.
Anyway, the hesitation more or less feels like a cold engine hesitation if that makes sense. Like I said before, nothing major or worrisome just wondered if any other 4.7 owners has noticed it. Maybe my foot is not heavy enough on the gas pedal. That could explain why we managed 21mpg on a 250mi trip over the weekend. It does not matter, I love this truck even if my wife did pick it out.

I had the 4.7 in my 02 QC and really liked it. It was very smooth, almost electric like. It does not have the torque that the Hemi has, but no over head cammer will. You might have an injector that has a burr or manufacturing defect or even a bad plug. Take it in and see what the dealer thinks. It most likely will not code until it gets worse. The 4.7 in the HO form like they have since 08 is a very nice engine. The only complaint that I had with mine was that at highway speed, it would drop out of OD all the time because without torque, it needed more RPM to maintain speed on even the smallest of grades. I had 135K trouble free miles on mine, but would never want that engine with 20 inch tires without a 4.10 gear.

I am sitting at 16.5-16.9 around town.Took a highway trip the other day about 30 miles, 55-65mph and when I got back I was up to 18.6mpg, until I started driving around town. The lowest I have seen yet is 14.5 and that was right after I got my Magnaflow put on. I am getting a Bakflip so maybe I will see more improvements. I keep my foot out of it, otherwise I'll drop to about 15. about 1400 miles on the truck...
