A/T M/T Pros and Cons
In case my trade for TRX tires option falls through and I pickup some new tires I'd like to get your guys' opinions. My truck is a daily driver and when I take it off road it will be mud (not swamp) and/or dry dirt. Very little rocks/rock climbing in SC. This is what I've come up with so far. Any opinions are appreciated.
M/T's
Pros
WAY cool looking
About as off road capable as you can get (for the most part)
Cons
louder
less mileage?? both in fuel and before wear (daily driver)
Less road capable
A/T's
Pros
Probably more mileage
More Road capable
Can still get a relatively aggressive looking tread
Cons
Gonna get stuck more often
Truck look less bad ace
I would also assume quicker to be less off road capable with big ole *****.

Yeah. I guess I'm trying to get someone to make my mind up for me. Basically can I settle for sensible if I can get AWESOME for the same price? Why can't they make these suckers a grand different in price or something.
you already made a good list of differences, depends on your income really. Mt's wear faster than AT's and will need to be replaced sooner. I say go with At's and next time you buy tires you can upgrade to MT's if you feel so. At's are smoother riding, last longer, less noisy, and can be very capable. I had nitto terra grapplers before and never had a problem. 35's will get you worse gas mileage and are potentially worse on the truck. You could always compromise 35" aTs or 33" MT's. Id go for 35" AT's unless i find a good used deal on MT's
You have the 3.92's so i would say go with the 35's but like bigred said it all depends on budget

Well to follow all this up I order some pretty capable looking 33's. One website I was checking said that the increase to 35's could cause brake issues so like you said I'm starting with basically a 33 x 11.5 A/T, and can always upgrade down the road if I don't feel the new tires aren't capable. Plus with the helacious offset of the new rims the push to the outside should beef up the look a little too.
