My '97 dakota topped at 114. Scared me when the gov kicked in and started cutting the power. For a little truck it handled well at that speed on a straight hiway. 50 miles of nothing scooting across the king ranch. I can't see wanting to go any faster than that in a truck.

5.9 I think you just need to gain some lead in you foot, I am not blind and I assure you it hit 115, I did 112 today on I-75, if your truck doesnt do it, don't know. If you don't believe me come to cooper city florida and I will take you to the Hway and show you, my truck hits around 105 stalls for a moment and continues not at the same pace prior to 105 but I assure it continues, I don't know what your talking about whiplash or hitting it hard (don't know what your hitting, maybe the pipe) LOL. Keep trying maybe your not pushing hard enough.

You have a faulty PCM. Be sure to let your wife/mom/whoever know that if you ever get in an accident doing better than 105 that, after the funeral, they can sue what is left of Chrysler.

If you don't believe thats your choice, two times over 105 I guess you all are the experts (not), I assure you It's no BS, but whatever I guess its strikes a nerve with you so whatever, Like I said its not like the truck continues like a rocket but it does creep up with the speed built into the vehicle before the limiter kicks in, I guess you all never took a F*&^^^G physics course, I assure the truck doesn't slam on its brakes and give you whiplash and I am sure the truck continues accelerating to a point (mine does, hahahahaha), try it a couple of times, don't know how to explain it but it happened.

I won't challenge your claim. You can write what you want. However, I will state all of your claims of doing 100+ indicates you are a driver with no concern for others on the road or traffic laws . I will doubt that where you live you must drive 100+ on the freeways to keep up with traffic. Someday it will catch up with you. I hope you don't take anyone out with you.

So when testing the hypertech, they told me to program it for 25mph take it for a drive, and see if the motor cut out. It did. No creeping up with the pedal down. What it did do with the pedal down was take off again once the truck coasted below 25mph.

I don't think you are full of ****. I think you have a faulty PCM.

The truck did what it did, I don't have to prove it or make a believer out of anyone, I have no reason to be "full of S*&t, I am not trying to sell anyone anything (magic R/T badges, wings, or programs) I am 38 years old and have plenty experience with reading an odometer, its not a special skill, when I started the post I was curious about the issue, since then when I get a chance/reason to get the truck up i check it out and see what it will do, as far as a faulty PCM oh well i will have it checked when I get tires rotated.

And I guess you never had to accelerate pass the posted limit, and yes I do have concerns for others but everynow and then you have to get around people who by doing the speed limit in dump trucks with rocks spewing all over the road damaging vehicles, I work in Fire/ems and have more concern an passion for my fellow man than most folks with that said I've seen more tragedy from folks doing far less on the hway, these trucks hit 100 very easily (lot quicker than my 04 hemi) and quickly especially when you are already doing 70-80 in traffic, the only time is special circumstances which i guess you never do, I hope murphy doesn't catch up to any of us in our daily lives cause I see it all the time. peace, I am done with this post and all the boyscouts.

The hemi has so much power left at the 105 mark that I think it could hit 140 without much effort...and it gets to 105 in a hurry.
