Spray in bedliner
I've ordered my truck and I did my research and read everything you all said and decided to go with the Line-X. The only thing is I can't decide if I should have them spray the top of the bed rail. I know they 4th gen has a plastic cap, but I notice that it moves. So it would be nice to protect the paint underneath. So the question is, can it be done or if not, can the line-x be sprayed to look the same as the existing plastic cap?
When they pulled the plastic cap off there were holes they had to fill and spray over on my Dad's 09. Where they sprayed over the holes just look like raised up rectangles and offer better protection than the plastic cap.

when I requested a quote online via the line-x web site the response I got from the local franchise was that they don't go over the rail on the 09's because of the caps. That's probably the default answer and if you really wanted it they would probably do it for a few bucks more. I've got a bed cover on mine so wasn't too concerned about going over the rail even if it had been offered.
I had the caps as well as the lower rockers done, no regrets.
I like the look of it. Has it held up ok? How did they make sure the cap doesn't move so the line-x could be sprayed on the paint and the plastic?
Yeah so far it has held up as I expected..
I have Qwikliner and it works well. "Low Pressure" material is softer and more rubber like with a coarser texture. This makes it more slip resistant. Because it has a 15-20 second gel time it can flow into low places and fill them much better than "High Pressure" can. Due to "Low Pressure's" density and thickness, it is an excellent sound deadener. Body rattle and road noise are greatly reduced.
I paid $450 for the Line-X and got them to put the Extra Kevlar coating on for an extra $100 bucks. I negotiated everything they wanted $505 for the liner and $150 for the Kevlar. I got it for $550 out the door. So far I am very happy with it. I really like how the Kevlar coating gives it a real clean look. I went that route because I do not throw big rocks or tools or anything crazy in the bed of the truck. My truck is a daily driver with weekend tow trips with the boat to the water. I had a regular line-X done in my last truck and wished I had tried the Kevlar. So that is the other reason I tried it. If any one is curious the Kevlar kinda gives the liner a glossy finish and is supposed to be a lot stronger and easier to keep clean. Since it is new I really cannot give any real word info on it but I will follow up.
