Well I may sound like a sales man, but we are currently using an STS Dual set up on our drag car. Granted there isn't programming that you have to worry about, but I have talked extensivly with STS about the newer HEMI motors. They swear that on stock setup, the HEMI can handle 5 PSI of boost just fine. If you were looking to get more out of it, then you need to start looking at injectors, and programmers. Another reason I push STS is because of how newer vehicles these days are under the hood. In a lot of cases, a person would have to get really creative to fit a supercharger, or a traditional turbo on one.

The STS is a slick setup and they may be right. Factory tuning tends to be rich at WOT, but that's an awful lot of money to spend to find out that they're wrong. It is a catch 22. An older vehicle that you didn't just drop 30 grand on- sure..wtf.. go for it, but, then again, an older vehicle will have tuning options.

It'll be years (or until I find out that my warranty isn't worth squat) before I think about boost, but I sure would like to see a tuner come out so those that want to can do it.

Yes, the engine's warranty will go away with boost.

The STS turbo also mounts down next to the trans right? I don't want a 1000$+ turbo sucking up water and dirt/sand if I go off road.

Yeah, they probably wouldn't work to good in the mud lol.

Another thing to consider- They upped the cylinder pressures on the new Hemi.
IIRC the cr is around 10.5:1 now. So it is not going to be quite as forgiving as the old Hemi
if you don't get the tune just right.

I get the much, much more part. Parts are mandatory with a bigger turbo. Looked like a nice set up. Did you ever run it at the track?

I miss the turbo, but love the truck.

I would not want to test one on mine. Even if I had a wideband, scangauge, and etc.

10.5 to 1 and a turbo, even at very low boost, is going to need a tune and higher octane gas to reap the benefits.

Slapping a turbo on without a tune may have the PCM retarding timing to reduce knock which in turn reduces HP. Or at least that is my guess what would happen.

You would definitely need a way of pulling timing at higher rpms. I can't wait to get the service manual and see what makes this thing tick. Alot of stuff in our motors that I have never messed with. Could be that reducing cylinder pressure is just a matter of tuning the vct. Though, I have a feeling that even if we do get a decent tuner by the end of the summer, it'll be a good while before anyone hacks into the box that far. Being able to tune the intake manifold would be pretty cool too.

I just got the service manual in, though I cannot figure out how to open it. It is not in a simple PDF file.
