Default can mirrors be flashed to tilt in reverse? (sport 4x4 hemi quad)

hey guys, i wondered if anyone has figd. this out yet? on my 08 jeep grand cherokee overland it did not come as on option in the evic. found out on the forums you had to have it unlocked via starscan at the dealer to make it work. i noticed in the manual some trucks come standard.(laramie im assuming) just wondering if its something that could be flashed assuming the motor is already behind the mirror.

My Laramie has that option in the Evic. I assume your mirrors are power, so I would guess it's possible, although it could be there is a different motor used if you do not have memory seats/mirrors.

On some Chrysler vehicles when you place the transmission in reverse it automatically lowers your side view mirrors so you can better see where you are backing up. It's a terrific feature and I don't know why they just don't make it a standard feature so long as the vehicle is equipped with power mirrors.

It would be great if the feature could be unlocked via a Starscan tool at the dealership. Let us know what you find out.

I thought it was cool at first but mirrows drop to far in my opinion, they point directly at the rear tires which is good if your are close to a curb or something u want to miss with your rear tire but u can't see anything behind you except your tire, I enjoyed it for about a week then deactivated it

Biggest issue with that "feature" is if you live in a place where you get ice storms. You do not want your mirrors trying to move by themselves after you've had an ice storm, great way to bust them up. My dad learned that one the hard way on his lexus.

enough to think about when driving in the winter, to add to remember to shut the auto mirror off, hell I forget the dam wipers sometimes...getting old too much to remember.
