Well, finally got it installed and secured, haven't yet gone for a ride but I'm sure it is fine.

I hooked the tether to what is actually the anchor for the actual seat - as mentioned at the split in the bench. I'm pretty sure this wasn't Dodge's intended location for the child seat tether but it is welded to the body and much easier to latch onto than what I believe are the intended anchors.

Thanks again for the help SoonerBob!

congratulations on getting it secured. I really feel fine with mine being secured with the seat belt. I'm sure everyone already knows this but when securing with the seat belt pull the belt completely out until you hear it click and then let it go back in while pushing the safety seat into the car seat and it should be nice and snug.

Well, it is time for a forward facing seat. I put it behind the passenger seat and it doesn't feel very secure. This design makes me mad. If you do it the way the book mentions, through the headrest and the fabric loop that does nothing, and ancor the hook behind the middle seat, it pivits on one of the the headrest bars. A weak point if you ask me. I guess I'll go back down and see if I can figure something else out.

Not sure why everyone's upset over this set up. Just use the seat belt. Put your knee in the car seat and tighten the seat belt. My daughters car seat is in this way and it doesn't move at all. I also suggest putting it on the passenger side so you can look back at them. The anchor system sucks on these trucks but the seat belts work just fine.

I have a forward facing seat behind the passanger and it fits fine with the latch system. I just push down on one side at a time to pull it tight and then clip the tether strap to the loop in the middle of the headrest and you can shake the whole truck before the seat will move around.

I'm diggin reading these posts. I'll be modding the CC RAM this weekend with a Chicco infant seat. He'll be going on the passenger side, not only so I can see him occasionally, but he'll be able to rock out sitting on the subwoofer when I'm blasting Metallica!

Is there a top latch? I've always just used the tow lower hooks, and the belt to secure the top for my God daughters seat.

Haha, its funny because I uninstalled these hooks on the subaru when installing a cf amp board 4 years ago, which is now actually removed as well (and most of the time it doesn't have the rear seat installed )

I used the seat belt as recomended. I also used the latch system in addition. I ran the tether through the loop and back down to one of the lower hook brackets. It seems fine now.
