yeah..i have 1500 miles now and the 3.55...so i thought i would punch it once from a stop sign. i turned of esp, and thought i would get wheel spin, or atleast a chirp. i got nothing...so i next stepped on the brake and rev to 3000 rpm and punched it while releasing the brake and still no wheel spin. i guess i won;t be able to show off.

I will just say it at the risk of getting flamed (and let me start by saying I LOVE this truck-wouldn't trade it for anything else out there).

These things are SLOW-especially off the line. Yes--I know they weigh a gazillion pounds but if there were a true 390 hp/ 407 Tq--they would chirp the tires. Now--when there is an aftermarket tune available--that will do it.

They are a true 390 HP, but the drivetrain sucks a lot of that up.

My truck will light them up in first and second gear. (3.92's....)

When was your build date? Mine was I think 9/08 and with the 3.55 5.7 HEMI SLT when I turn off the ESP(which is not totally off) I can do a one wheel spinout that will last so long that I get embarassed and let off the gas.

I have 5.7 w/ 3.55 and 17"s. Had 19.9mpg on a 90% long highway trip I took a few weeks ago (which included 6 miles of idling bumper to bumper in a construction zone). Usually only on the highway if I'm towing. My average is between 16-17 mpg on country roads. I generally drive like a grandma, so the girl says. Run in fuel saver most of the time.

Have a hard time keeping my tires from spinning. In my exhaust video, you can hear my truck even chirp second. Impressive with the torque management, even though that's the only time it will ever be driven that way.

Very happy with my 3.55s, but I don't think I would be with the 20s and tires.

Default 3.55 rear end

Hey guys: Just placed an order on a new sport 1500 truck with the 3.55's, I was wondering if you could order these gears with the limited slip diff, can not get a straight answer from dealer, the brochure says it is part of a package, but I cant find the package any where. Any help from someone?

PS. is it true you cant spin your tires with these gears? I will do some light duty 4x4 in sand and mud but mostly use it for work, will it struggle with out the limited slip in or is it ok? thank you

3.92 is limited slip only. Other ratios are open. You can easily spin tires if you want to.
