Default Are Your Headlights Fogging Up?

For some strange reason my headlights are fogging up. My right one was fogged up - I pulled it out and couldn't believe how much water was in there. It was like someone poured an ounce plus of water in there. Yes I did put in HIDs, but the opening for the headlight was sealed. I pulled the other cap and the parking light out and used a hair dryer for 20 minutes to dry that headlight out. I reassembled the light, put the grille back in, washed the truck later and the next morning my other headlight was fogged up - wtf?

I haven't pulled the other headlight yet, I'll do that later today, but I couldn't find anywhere on the other one that water could have seeped in.

Has anyone had any fogging issues (with their headlights)?

The headlamp housings are supposed to be sealed to prevent this. Go to the dealer and they should replace the defective headlamp housings.

You could do this, but if you fail to seal it and still have the problem, I doubt the dealer would still honor the warranty. Just a word of caution.

Be carefull taking it to the dealer with the HID's installed because they will probably say it is your fault because you installed the HID which voids the warrenty

Mine are bone dry, but the others are correct, they will replace them. That is if you do not go in with the HIDs installed, they still may, but could become difficult.

Are the HID's a simple bulb replacement, one for one with the OEM head lamp bulbs? If so, then they cannot hold that against you in replacing the housing. Replacing a bulb is a normal service procedure. If the HID's require any modifications to the housing, then you will have some trouble.

The HID bulbs are in the stock locations, but there is a wiring returning from the bulbs to ballast and you must leave off the service cap off behind the headlight housing. I've got my taped up pretty good with some metal tape I got off my A/C contractor at work and the tape is still sealing. So your guess is good as mine to where the water is getting in.

Mine fogged up once the day after I installed my HIDs, but I left them alone and they haven't fogged up again. And we had a month of constant rain to boot.
