You can disable traction control by disconnecting the front wheel speed sensors. The rears would probably also work, though I have not tried that. You'll get 3 lights on the dash, but I've gotten so used to them I don't notice them anymore.
As for smoking the tires, thats what I have been screaming about on this forum for 2 weeks (people just look at me like im crazy) You see we have something called ESP (electronic slowness protection) it cant be turned off and it assures that we cant have any fun in our 390HP Trucks. Our only hope is that Diablo Sport comes out with a good programmer soon!

As far as the ESP goes, someone on here said it was a government required safety feature? The thread was a guy that wanted to swap his rear end. They're always sticking their nose where it shouldn't be. Anything to interfear with capitalism, free market, and the ideoligy that our ansesters sacraficed everything for.
What's wrong with the hypertek? Does super chips have one in the works?
I don't know much about programmers, so I don't know what the difference in companies are.
I don't know for sure? I think the button may control the sensitivity of it.
With it turned on, the muck is so slippery it just stops the wheels completely.
I'll guarantee that it's really off when I switch it off on mine. I've currently got a mud pit in front of my house and I can spin the tires as fast as I feel comfortable without it kicking in.

Maybe it is that way, I wish the switch would stay off after you shut the truck off. That is annnoying when you need to turn the truck off and on.
ESP does not turn off when the button is pushed, it partially removes the esp function. In 4wd lock the button can pushed for 5 seconds and the EVIC will say "ESP off," this means esp is completely off but only in 4wd
I wonder if there is a way to trick the PCM into thinking that the 4wd is engaged, when it really isn't. That would allow ESP to shut off in 4wd. I have been looking through the service manual for a way.
