You've got to read it a few dozen times to get it all.

That's correct, but it also says that it will turn back on automatically at 40 mph wheel spin. So if true, we'll do more than a 40 mph wheel spin doing a burnout, so what's the point of turning it off, lol. Plz understand, I may be wrong and I'll stand corrected if so. Like you said, I guess I''ll have to read it a few more times.bad manual, bad boy, love these icons, lol

let me correct my statement.
My truck will spin its tires in the mud or on wet pavemnt a little.
It will not burn rubber on dry asphalt.
407 lbs of torque should.
My 1998 Ram sure would. Less HP less TQ...probably lighter...I forget.
Bigger tires I know.

I'm sure it has something to do with the suspension and weight transfer, but power braking is another story, it should fry the tires, and I can't with my truck. At a hundred to one odds, I'll bet I get to the bottom of this one way or another. I let a freind of mine with an 05 drive mine and I drove his. He thinks my truck is a dog because it can't fry them like his, and he's swears that he will beat me. He's a young kid, with no experience, and his truck is slow out of the hole while mine launches like a rocket from 0-100. I don't want to hurt his feelings and ruin his high, but I may show him just for the sake of the 09 Hemi. He even went as far a mocking mine needing a reflash, and his not. I'd like to make him eat his words, and show him the difference when it's refashed. Any "HOWS", I'm gonna get to the bottom of this tire fry thing, because I'm going to need to get real loose when I install this new 273 comp cam down the road. I wonder if these new type converters have something to do with it, gotta look that way as well.

I really don't know what it is suposed to do but, last night after work @ about 65 degrees I wanted to test mine. I ussually don't do this but neeed to see what it would do on dry pavement. Nothing special, put it in drive and floored it while I was creeping forward. The hemi roared over the sound of screaching tires and the LSD kicked in imediatly and I left two burnout marks about 20 ft. long. Enough for me, no need for further testing.

If it kicks off at 40, would dash light come off? Will it shut of in normal driving at 40 or just if one wheel is spinning?

Make a video of the 2009 Dodge Ram burning its tires for 20' from a rolling start.

Brake lock and causing drift is not what I am taking about.

I don't know, I've never tried it yet, but that's what the manual says, and I don't know if it interferes with burnouts, but I'm searching. Read pages 340 and 341 in your manual, and see what you make of it, it's confusing to me. While you were doing your burnout, what was your rpm range, high or low? I did one a while back and my rpm dropped to around 4500, like I started dragging something. It wasn't like a normal burnout, but hey yours sounded pretty good Oh and by the way, while I was reading about the 2010 Camaro, they mentioned how traction control kept the tires at at minimum spin. So, I'm starting to believe more and more that is does have a lot to do with the burnouts. You can google it, 2010 Camaro versus Challenger and Mustang and maybe see the same thing about the traction control on the Camaro. The mention that it still peels out some even with traction control, so?......

I pm'd a member with an RT to see how his truck comes out the hole with that stallspeed converter they have, and I'm waiting for his reply. I read something at TCI web site about our converters being wired as well, but don't quote me on that. It was something weird about them anyway

i have a crew 4x4 w/3.92 lsd factory 275/60/20 goodyears and from a dead stop i get minimal spin then the truck hooks and goes.as far as powerbraking with the esp partially off the truck spins the tires with ease for about 30-40 feet then you can feel the traction control/esp kick in
