I meant the valence, not the bumper. Should've been more clear on my part.

Because people are idiots. I had a guy last year buy a plow from us. He installed it on his 09 GMC 1500. When out plowing, he hit a curb in the middle of a lot doing from what we can tell, a pretty good speed. Bent the bottom of the plow, the mount, tweaked his frame and set off the airbags. He set a lawyer on both us and GM because neither of us would cover it under warranty. You tell me how either of us could possibly be liable for his stupidity?

New trucks with the built in crumple zones/airbags etc make it very hard to attach a plow and not get some damage when you hit something, even a nice block of frozen ice under the snow. They do not want to be held responsible for damage done by something they designed the truck NOT to do.

Your warranty on anything that went wrong that could be caused by plowing will be void. Not only just your drivetrain, suspension and airbags, but could even be electrical if you tie in to run the controls and it messes something up. These electrical systems are getting picky these days.

If you are not doing huge lots just get one of those snow plows that is plastic, very light and you can get the 7 and a half feet...not too bad. Fisher is so expensive as is Meyers and BOSS. Check google you will find some nice light weight light duty plows, didn't you say you were just doing a few driveways?
