Default Remote will not work sometimes.

Well to be specific...... It will not work at all in My Local Walmart plaza's parking lot.

I couldn't get it to unlock or remote start after several tries. Even right up against the truck.

I ended up using the key to unlock the truck and that set the alarm off.
I finally got the alarm to shut off but only after franticly waving the FOB around while hitting the unlock button a million or 2 times.

Anywhere else its fine. But it just will not work in My Local Walmart parking lot. I Assume it has something to do with the Signals Walmart is putting out but is there anything other than not visiting Walmart I can do to get it to work?

Unfortunately my Barber, the Pet store and the local Steak and Shake is in that plaza and I have to be able to visit it.

If you lokk about three pages back in these forums, there is an exchange of info on how many people are having this problem, myself included. Mine doesn't make any bias as to where I am when it happens. Not sure why we are having this problem. Haven't had time to find a new dealer yet.

I had this problem on my 08 it was only when I went to one place. It ended up being how close the parking lot was to overhead power lines.

Not to hijack the OP's thread but quick question for Brummo. I bought the DEE ZEE steps just like your and love the way they look but when I hit a bump I can feel them vibrate in the floor board of the truck... Do you feel a vibration when you hot a decent bump or pothole?

Apparently when the remote fails to unlock the truck, try hitting the lock, then the unlock button. Seems that the truck seems to think its already unlocked or summin...try it out.

no help on the fobs not working, however, if you get into a situation where your truck is locked and the security is on you might try unlocking the passenger door w/ the key.
this is pretty much a universal way of disarming the security and gaining entrance into the truck w/o the alarm sounding.
that damn horn is LOUD

Is there even a key hole on the passenger side?

The unlock button on my drivers door doesn't work sometimes as well as the fob so maybe it goes a little deeper

My wife works at a Casino and certain places she parks it doesn't work until she gets right next to it. Now ours is new so the batteries are well from October but not used till March. I have a set in my house alarm that have been in for 5 years so depending on how much you use it try changing the batteries. She was told that security has some type of block so that people cannot access the casino from outside with any electronic devices. Maybe Walmart doesn't want peoples cards being read or some other deal? It is an electronic field of some sort causing it. So keep your batteries fresh and it should work for you if you get right next to it.

Okay we played and if you have to enter your truck with the key and the alarm goes off, just start it with the fob and all is well. I think if you press the unlock key on the door will kill it too but I didnt check that.
I don't like that not being able to rely on my keyless, you better set your alarm by using the button on the door it will arm the alarm also just in case you can't set your alarm for the same reason you can't unarm it. Also it is not recommended to use your remote to lock your car, there are machines out there that steal your code as you use your remote. So in public places especially just hit your switch on the door, that way your code cannot be stolen, especially if people are sitting in cars close by or suspicious vans, it's out there, people are ingenious these days, my credit card company has sent me 4 different cards this year alone because of possibility of theft or they suspect something. Anyway this is funny I am writing this and my wife tells me about it not working at the Casino.
