Default 09 Lariat steering wheel and gauge cluster in ST

I have a 09 RAM St and i put a MYGIG ren, Gauge cluster, and Steering wheel in my truck from a 09 Laramie. Everything works but the steering wheel. All the stuff from the cluster work like the miles to empty, messages, etc. The horn as well as the steering wheel controls do not work. Is there a different wire harness, everything plugged up perfect. Any Ideas?

The dealer might have to turn the features on with their computer. These trucks are not as simple as you would think they would be in some cases.

Thats what i hope will happen, i have an appt. tomorrow but i hope i don't have a warranty issue for swapping them out. I just told them it stopped working, maybe they will overlook that since they are oem parts. Thanks for the advice.

I have an 09 Laramie and my son has an 09 SLT Big Horn. Mine has a few more functions on the stering wheel than his. Tilt down sideview mirrors when backing is one. Is there a chip or a module replacement plug in that would give him what I have or no. And if yes, what would it run?

How difficult was it to change out the wheel and cluster?

Oh yeah, my bad...Laramie.

It was an easy install on the cluster, 3 screws and just unpluging the 3 harneses. The steering wheel on the other hand, it was hell getting the airbag off. But once i got it off it was an easy install after that.

You probably need to get a new clockspring. This is the device mounted under the steering wheel that allows wiring on the steering wheel to reach the rest of the vehicle.

i didnt know the laramie had a different guage than regular trucks...

i do know i hated the seats in some of the lower priced models... like the afgan rug looking brown on some of them...

i guess i take for granted some of the features on my truck... i wonder what else my truck has that cheaper models dont...

i think 2 glove boxes is one...

I know the base model doesn't have any of the fancy trim like the other models do. No steering wheel controls, No battery voltage meter or anything else in the cluster, just speedo, tach, fuel, and oil(again without all the fancy trim) Another thing in the cluster is the led information screen is basic, it only tells you how many miles you've driven, if your door is open, and when your about to run out of gas. My model doesn't have fog lights either, or any overhead console lights(dont know if other models have this either)
