I thnik im going to buy this tailgate lock
This seems like a convient solution to the locking tailgate problem and they make a model for our truck. I cant decide on even which kind of bed cover, i have been reading for hours and everytime i think i found "THE" cover i find 4 or 5 reviews from people who say thinks like (the side rails scratch real easy) etc. I know i either want a Bakflip HD or an aluinium retractable cover. the are both expensive and having never owned a bed cover or even seen one of these in real life (i live in BFE) im scared of making a mistake. How ever i have decided on a tailgate lock.

"You never have to remember to lock your PowerGate. It automatically activates when you lock and unlock your power doors. Simply hit the button on your (factory) keyless remote, and your entire vehicle is locked down tighter than a Sing Sing cell block."

Nope. Even the factory system doesn't just plug in. You have to run all the wires up to the engine compartment.
Do they have pretty good instructions. I can do the job, just want it to be not so time consuming if I do.

If you go to mopar.com and look up the part, the instructions are there in a PDF. Doesn't look like a ton of work, you do have to do some splicing. I'm not impressed that they didn't prewire a plug for the Mopar lock.
you have to run a wire along the drivers side frame with all the other wires, then there is a second harness with relays etc that you have to poke 2 of those wire through the firewall, then the wire from the back hooks into the front harness, 2 wires from the harness get hooked to 2 wires under the dash or in the door if you can't find them under the dash then you hook the power to the battery cuz i didn't find a substation or whatever you call it, most new cars have it since the battery in is the trunk or hidden out of site so they make a spot where you can get power and negative direct. any way just hook to he battery. Now you know you have to have power locks already right? If not they have a switch and I am sure the wiring will get more intense, this is fairly simple. I wish there was a spot to hook stuff up other that direct to the battery cuz I hate disconnecting the battery always causes problems.
