Good to hear that!

I have no Uconnect or any fancy features on mine. But I do have an input receptacle for the radio. Its on the radio itself and says Aux/Res. The list of features that was on the window (price tag) at sale says I have this for interior features,

(AM/FM Stereo Radio w/In-Dash CD/MP3 Player uconnect studios-Sirius Satelite Radio).

I was told all I needed was a common cable to plug in the Ipod. That I could get it at Radio Shack. I do not have an Ipod yet, but I think my wife has one for my birthday coming up in a few days. The list also says uconnect, but when I push the uconnect button it says I don't have it. Any ideas. Thanks

John,

The Uconnect is the bluetooth feature for your radio and cell phone. You need the module for the system to work and it will allow for handsfree use of your phone.

The AUX input on the front of the radio is infact for an ipod or MP3 player and is on all the radios. It works fine for the most part but you have to control the music from the iPod itself and it does not charge the iPod.

The iPod integration cable we are talking about will actually allow you to control your iPod with the factory radio buttons. If you have the Nav it will also allow you to view your songs and playlists on the screen. Additionally, the cable will also charge the iPod and keep it hidden in a glove box the entire time.

Thanks GMONEY, Whats the deal with the unconnect? It says I have it on the price tag/list of features that I have kept. But I do not have it. Look at the wording above. It is worded exactly the way it reads on the list. Do you think they will have to put in uconnect since it says I should have it? Or am I reading it the wrong way? I can be pretty convincing if I know I'm right. Really appreciate your help.

Ps... These words are not included on the optional equiment, just on the Standard equipment under "interior".

Best thing to do is check with the dealer. It sounds like your radio may be uconnect ready but you might not have the bluetooth module for it to work. It is an option I believe and not a standard item.

What happens when you press the uconnect button? If you have it you should get a voice prompt that says 'no paired phones'. If you get nothing then I assume you don't have it.

It says uconnect is not installed or something like that.

Ok so it sounds like you don't have it then. Its a nice option to have if you talk a lot on the phone when you are in your truck. It integrates nicely with the stereo system and provides one of the best handsfree systems available.

I wouldn't hook it up if I didn't have it though. I'd spend the extra couple hundred and upgrade the whole stereo head unit with an aftermarket one that has the bluetooth and microphone already integrated

Anyone have instructions handy on taking the dash apart to add the cable?

PM me an email address and I can send you the backup camera instructions. The first 8 steps deal with dash removal.
