Not bad. After the Mufflex, I think this will be my next mod. Of course perhaps I should wait for the RER Lockpick kit and do both at the same time. After our trip this weekend the wife gave the green light for one. The "in motion" restrictions on the NAV were driving her nuts.

Found a thread here with several good pictures of the installation and the soft buttons that are activated when you plug in an iPod/iPhone.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen-ram/200971-ipod-interface-cable-install-for-rer-short-review.html

OK, no idea why the link isn't working. For some reason it tries to find the thread outside of the 4th Gen forum. Just copy and past it into your browser.

Is it easier to find songs with the iPod cable and upgraded module than with the integrated hard drive?

It'll probably be the same since both will sort off of the MP3's ID3 tags. So, if the song tagging is correctly done they should be the same.

I'm going to install a cable, just so I don't have to worry about loading new songs/albums into two places, MyGiG and my iPhone. I can just put the new music on my iPhone and not have to worry about loading it into the radio. Of course by just using the phone I'll only have 16GB of space as opposed to the radio's 30GB.

I put my order in at the dealer today for the kit (#82211853). They said it'll take a week or so for it to come in. So hopefully in 2 weeks I'll have my iPhone connected and working with my RER MyGiG.

jvcougar;

I have looked under my dash behind the glove box and I can not for the life of me find the cover on the side of the dash that houses the module. Is there a picture anywhere, I'm sure it's there and I'm just blind. Thanks

Here's the kicker....module #5064449AF is only a mere $350 from your dealer.
