has anyone tried installing two ezdowns one on the driver side and passenger side.

Then when you go there with hands full tailgate opens and goes down slowly, we even have a toilet seat here that does not slam down.

i doubt it. its not needed. works exactly as designed. also their would have to be some sort of drilling/tapping i believe....

Every 5 year old I ever saw, could climb up there to work the latch - how many have you seen in the back of pick up trucks?????
