Default Badge Removal

Has anybody attempted to remove any of the various badges on their truck, such as the LARAMIE on the tailgate or the HEMI on the front fender? It bothers me to no end that the HEMI, stuck right beside RAM, are different sizes. Thought I would try to remove the HEMI and put it on the hood where it belongs.

Just do a search of Debadging and you should find a ton.

I have actually been working on mine today. People will suggest heat gun or hair dryers. I just parked in the sun for a while.

Take dental floss, or fishing line, or even sewing thread and work it back behind the badges and move in a back and forth sawing motion.

Once it pops off you can easily scratch off the large peices of tape left behind, for the remaining residue I would reccommend 3M Adhesive Remover. It has worked like a champ for me today.

Edit for photos:
Door molding before and after. Removed about 2 hours ago. Took me about 30-40 minutes to do it all by hand, no cleaning wheel.

I just did mine yesterday. I removed the hemi, ram, and 4x4. I used a plastic bondo spreader and worked the emblem away from the adhesive and then used an eraser wheel to remove the adhesive. Took 10 minutes total.

I recommend a magic eraser sold at Napa Auto parts.

I second the magic eraser. That and some heat and mine took all of a couple minutes for each emblem. Did a little polish and wax after and you cant even tell. Worth the 12 bucks for the eraser, plus i only used like an 1/8th of it, so i have it to use on other vehicles. There is a good youtube video for it as well. Just search debadge or something along those lines.

Exactly.. I can't believe all the emblems i've removed in the past using "Oops". I buffed and waxed it afterwards.

yeah, that's what I use, is in that DIY, although NAPA charges like $30 for it, you can get it at any auto paint supply stores for about $9, but they call it a pinstripe eraser, same thing. Works like magic...

Yup I have debadged and took moldings off my last 3 vehicles with the same eraser, plus my brother has used it on two of his so it will last a long time.
