Same thing happens if your gas light is on, the truck will start with the remote, but won't stay running more than 10-15 seconds.

A Check Engine came on while I was driving aggressively on the highway. Disconnecting the battery cleared it and nothing since. But coincidently my Blackberry was on the charger connected to the outlet under the armrest and after that drive I could not charge the battery in it anymore. A power surge may have fried some of the circuity and it had to be replaced.

So I starte the truck up after work to go home and no more check engine light... It was only the 4th time I'd started the truck since the light came on. Got home and tested the remote start and it works now just fine. I guess the problem is fixed? I even drove it home pretty rough to see if the light would come back on and nothing. I will be canceling my appointment at the dealership I guess.

Doesn't the computer have a memory and the dealer can pull up the codes even if the light is not on??
Have not had any lights come on on mine (9100 miles) but if and when I do you can rest assured it will be going in to gat looked at. Then they have a record of it and warranty cannot deny coverage later on because it has happened before. I figure for what we pay for these trucks, I am going to bring it in for anything I think is wrong with it.
Why fix it yourself if the dealer(if close enough) has to do it under warranty!

Yeah, I would definitely still take it in to a dealer. If the check engine light came on, I wouldn't just clear it and ignore the situation. Something is going on that needs to be taken care of. They should still be able to pull up what the code was.

Well, the light cleared itself. I didn't clear it. But I guess I'll take it anyways... maybe get some RRT's taken care of while we're at it.... It just means I have to take the stupid shuttle to get to work and then have someone give me a ride back.

Sobo, my first 09 truck had this same problem. I used the remote start and it would die after about 10-20 secs. The CEL was on, could not figure it out. My boys and I drove it to best buy and the light was on the whole time. When we got back I called the dealer and the girl making the appointment told me that it was usually caused by a low battery. She said a lot of people sit in the truck loading music and pictures on the HDD and end up running the battery down enough to cause the CEL to come on. Well as it turns out I had been out there that very morning doing just that. Loaded about 7 or 8 cd's on the hdd. Shortly after is when we went to BB. On the way home from best buy I didn't run anything other than the a/c and the CEL went off. By the time we got home everything was working again and have not had that problem again. I now always have the engine running if I'm loading music or pics. All this to ask you if you were doing anything before that would have drained the battery. I don't mean drain it dead, I think it only takes a few volts to trigger the CEL. I also remember that I could not get on it while the problem was occuring. It would drive just fine normall, but try to punch it and it would just kind of bog down. I remember the days you could start the truck and then take the battery out while the truck continued to run, just don't turn on the headlights! Now a days, forget that. Jeff.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case with mine. It came on when I punched the throttle while towing the boat. I had not been doing anything prior that would have drained the battery.

I had the same problem around the same mileage, I was told it was a misfiring cylinder and they blamed it on the gas I used.
