Looks like the Lightning pulled pretty good on the top end when he started pulling away. You have to admit that a Rumble Bee with intake, 6.1 Cam, and tune is a far cry from an '09 with air filter, muffler and 3.21 rear end.

On a side note, that Rumble Bee sounded sweet.

I've owned two Fords, two Chevys, and three Dodges and the Lightning was by far the most fun and quickest of them all. BUT my family now requires a crew cab and that's why I bought the baddest one available.

I'm not big on corrected times, but I'm throwing it out there this time lol. 14.0 at 96.

The uncorrected time was 14.6 at 93....but the weather was horrible for racing(over 80 degrees, close to 100% humidity) , I was running 87 and we had all our luggage and whatnot on board. I'll be back out in the late summer/fall to see if I can hit a legitimate 14 flat or maybe dip into the 13s.

The lightning ran 14.4, I think at 94-95? I can't remember now. But he is always in the 13s, his best being a 13.5 here at Milan Dragway in Michigan. These runs were down in Bristol, Tn.

I totally know what you mean bro. The track over here is awful, DA is always bad and it goes uphill after the 1/8 mile mark. Im not big into corrected times either, but sometimes its the only way to make any sense of times in bad DA's. I was kinda bummed running a 14.3 the last time i went. It felt like my launch technique was perfect and i got out of the hole perfectly and was .1 seconds slower than my previous best time. I corrected the time and it ended up being a new best.

My 14.351 @ 95.60 ended up being a 14.015 @ 97.945 corrected. And thats w/o my tuner. The POS took a dump on me months ago and ive been too lazy to send it in. Im sure id be well into the 13's with it working and on a level track.

Looks like both RCSB trucks (dodge/toyota) are some what easy to get into the 13's with minor mods.

Do you run in San Diego?
Yeah, I would say you're right about that. I'd like to run it stock again, but I may have an exhaust by the next time. I don't really have plans to mod it extensively right now, but whenever the tuner comes out I'll pry pick one up. Shoot, right now it's almost as quick as my 94 z28 was lol.

For the lightning owners who will eventually find this post I will say this... I fully expect you to take my 09 Hemi long before some speed limiter....

No i run at fontana (california speedway) for the 1/4. I also run at irwindale, but it's only an 1/8th mile track. I normally run 9.0 @ 78 in the 1/8th. with a 2.0 60' time, so i know i can do better with a better 1/4 mile track.

Cool. I hit a couple of Nascar southwest events there when I lived in socal.

Do you have a 6 speed or an auto? Man, I'd love to have a stick in this truck!

Its a six speed auto, kinda like your ram. There's a stick but not a true stick shift, with 4.10's in the rear because it's a sport package. The regular tundras come with a 4.30 rear end.

To the OP sorry for thread jacking. Good kill, gives me some hope, although most L's are far from stock and i probably dont have a chance.
