Does anyone here have the K&N drop-in filter? If yes, what do you think? Any gas mileage improvements?

 

I would get an AEM dryflow drop-in, they are supposed to filter better and you never have to mess w/ oiling them, just wash, let dry, and put it back in.

 

Yes, I have one. On my truck it made the mid range come on harder, no noticeable gains bottom end, maybe a little top end gain. I havent bothered to check mileage though.

 

I also put one in. No difference in MPGs that were obvious. No power differences from the seat of the pants. Would need a dyno to measure any gains or losses here.

 

I purchased a drop-in tonight at Autozone. I must say, I see a slight gain in mid to high range power. I will post more results tomorrow after I put a few more miles on her.

 

I put one in after a mouth of owership. Can't really tell if any power gains. MPG is 14-14.5 in the city so I'm happy with that.

 

I also have the K&N drop in. I did notice a slight improvement in idle and just smoother acceleration in general, but didn't notice an more speed, milage, or any of the other claims with this mod. I've used K&N's though for years and didn't really expect anthing other than a smoother running engine. Jeff.

 

I put one on just before my Mufflex install and the mileage went down. I can't keep my foot out of it because it sounds so nice.

I put one in shortly after purchase and haven't noticed any real gains in mileage or power but I just like the reuseable side of things and have ran K&N on all vehicles for years with no problems.

 

Are you guys just talking about the filter itself or the whole set-up? Does the whole set-up void the warranty at all, or is it one of those things where they would have to prove that part caused the problem to not cover it, which someone always is the right part that did it? LOL
