Yes, any usb port will charge your iphone. It would have been nice to be able to plug in the iphone through the usb port and have control of all of the audio, but it looks like you need a special cable, and in some cases a special module.

this feature was a big help on our 5000 mile trip... that way we could leave the laptop pluged in the AC outlet and have both always charged

Yea, you'd think they would have thought of that. It's especailly lame that the USB device has to only have the MP3 on it in order to transfer music. It would be nice to take my external home backup drive and just plug it in and browse and suck the music from it.

The cable is $87 from MOPAR and is farily simple to install. The RER (Nav) units all you need is the cable. The REN units need the added module.

Is there instructions somewhere on how to dismantle the console to get to the back of the radio to connect the cable? I know it has to be pretty simple, but I have never done it before.

Joe, did you get the instructions? If not, PM me with your email address. Cougar sent me the instructions for installing a backup camera. The first 8 steps are how to take the radio out.

it will charge a BB i use it to charge my BB Storm all the time. i keep the usb cable in the truck just in case i need to charge it.

i also use the usb to put music on the hard drive because it is alot faster than ripping them from a cd. i just load up a thumb drive and plug it in.
