Default Taking stuff off

Guys,

I must be thick as $hit. Why take stuff off the truck? Wheels, badges, pillar vinyls etc?

None of these trucks are anything other than brand new. Why would you devalue a $25-35k investment?

I'm not casting stones, each to their own and all, I just don't understand the motivation.

To make it MINE. Personalize it. So it doesn't look like anyone elses'. Unique. Different.

That is why I do it.

I'm not one for doing much to my truck either. I like stock and mine is paid for. In the past when I did finance vehicles, I always paid them off as fast as possible because they for the most part are a depreciating asset. IMO it's not yours till you have the title. After its mine, then I could look at any mods I might want to do.

I agree with RJC799.......customizing a 30k truck is a way to stand out in the sea of rams on the street. Even millionaires with 250k cars do the same thing. Its all about making a statement!

You are thick. Have fun in your stock truck, wait, which one is yours again?

I enjoy tweaking mine to not only make it mine, but improve on the overall product. Very rarely have I bought anything that was perfect. So, I add a little here, take a little away there, and get it to what I want. I also look for ways to save cash, which was the way with my side rails and iPhone cable. The dealer wanted $1000 for the rails and $200 for the cable. Instead I did the mods on my own and spent $580 and $80.

I took all the badges off for the weight savings aspect. Had to have been at least 100 lbs in oversized media.

Just kidding obviously...but seriously, these guys, including me, mod their trucks/cars for the same reason you don't = Because thats the way they like it.

And for your comment on de-valuing their trucks by doing it....as you put it, they de-value anyway just sitting in the garage and to be honest about it I AINT SELLIN so it don't matta!

And who uses the term "thick" knowadays.......?

I like the way dodge made the truck look and I'm keeping it thay way. I care more about the truck's performance and looks than being unique and different. Of course looks are personal preference so to each his own.... I like stock

My truck looks different than anyone else's. Thats why I bought it. It's all stock except for front plate and rear plate ring. Of course it's all Miami Dolphin stuff.
Why mess up a good thing. Those black rims and ATV looking tires look like S##T. De badged also looks cheap. IMO.

Only thing I will change is rims and tires AFTER the tires wear out.

I do need an Pod cable. Do I need to go to the dealer or can I outsource it? Thanks.
