Do you have the EVIC? Which engine do you have?

HI All:

Just got back from the dealer and service person said they found the update and did the flash. It does not work, the light was never there and still isn't.

I wasn't really expecting the light since I have a dual exhaust but I thought you would get it. Just can't understand it.

I'm in So CAL. I've got a Laramie, with Dual Exhaust. Did an Oil change, and 3 RRTs. No fuel saver light. Asked the service manager (who's is very well informed on this truck) about this. Never heard of this. He showed me his service computer (connected to Dodge's internal service web site). No MDS fuel saver light (or update) for trucks built before 12/12/08 (or around time). He says he'll look more into this, for what it's worth.

Then again, don't you have an ST? So there is no EVIC to have the indicator show up on?
I have a short bed ST, 5.7, 392 gears, 17" chrome clad wheels, locking tailgate, tranny cooler and tow package. It came with single exhaust and grey bumpers, but I had chrome bumpers installed at a body shop, and I installed AFE duals. I never updated anything or reflashed anything since purchase. I wanted the single cab and 392's knowing the weight advantage over the Quad Cab would make it quicker. It was all I could afford and the only single cab around within 150 miles. There were no SLT's or RT's (single cab) available but oddly the same dealer has another of the same truck there now replacing the one I bought and still the only Hemi single cab. My credit is not too good, and I had 20k to put down but Chrysler wanted me to finance more than just 5k and so I used my bank and lost the incentive from Chrysler. I wound up putting down 19k and financing 6k for one year and it will be paid for in Feb 2010. That being said, this MDS thing is so confusing with so many conflicting stories, one that the ST doesn't have the light. I hope to bring my truck in soon to see if there are any updates available and try to find out first hand from them what is what. I was thinking about buying a 426 Gen 111 but I'm going to wait to see if they come out with an SRT truck with a 392 Hemi next year. If they do my truck will be paid for and I'll try to save and trade it in, if not maybe I'll just trade it in for an RT. I heard rumors of a new Apache engine coming out from Mopar, so I'm waiting on this to make up my mind. I'm very satisfied with my trucks performance but not the detuned crap, and Diablos' procrastinating the Rams tuner. I did a tune for my neighbors 02 Dakota this weekend with his new Superchip Flashpag and it was so easy to use. I updated the tuner on my PC and had to registered it in my name, he didn't like that too much lol. I can't wait for Diablo to to come out with ours. I'll try to go to the Dealer this week and let you guys know what they tell me about this. (I like this icon, lol)

I have a pre Dec built dual exhaust and my dealer says there is an mds update for it(Canada). I wonder if I will get the light. I think whoever started this already had the light and was turned off. For some reason the flash turned it on? Has anyone else but the first guy who got the light actually got the light after the flash I could have easily missed it, hard to read alll this stuff it is spread over different threads.

you are over complicating this. The 'fuel saver light' is a message that shows up in the EVIC (the pretty LCD info screen in the middle of the gauges that you don't have). So no matter what the flash does regarding the EVIC light, it does not matter, since you don't have the screen that the indicator would show up on.

It's like you're trying to figure out whether or not you can add HBO to your cable package, but you don't even own a tv.
