Default Last/Quick question regarding speakers for my RAM

Hello:

I've got a 1500 4x4 Crew Cab.

I'm going to order upgrades speakers today, and I just wanted to confirm the speaker sizes.

I know the front door speakers are 6x9.
What size are the tweeters on the dash, and in the rear doors?

I was just going to order the Kicker speakers from Mopar.
Anyone else purchase these? Do you like them?

In the ad below, the seller is advertising a amp by kicker. He mentions it's a "plug and play" set up. I emailed the seller and he wouldn't provide the model number for the amp. Anyone else install an amp like this?

If you are ordering the Kickers from Mopar, they will be able to get you the proper kit to fit your truck. So you don't really need the sizes. But as you mentioned, the doors are 6x9, the rear on the 09 are also 6x9. They show different part numbers for each though, not sure why. They were only 5.25" round on the old trucks.

Did you check with Byers? He was having a heck of a sale. You'd have to call for pricing but I'm sure he is a lot less than Ebay.

you will like the Kickers. They are a nice upgrade over stock for a fair price. Don;t know anyone with the amp though.

If you go to the Mopar website, you can download their Performance catalog. Starting on page 279 is the Kicker stuff including the amp.

the reason they show different sized is due to the depth of speaker that will fit. good luck finding a GOOD 6x9 that will fit in the rear doors... very shallow

better to fill in the 6x9 hole with mdf coated in soundener and cut a 6.5 round hole and put a component speaker, there is a thread somewhere is here with a pic and everything. If I find it I shall lead you to it.

Just out of curiosity does maybe the Quad cab still have the round speaker in the back since it is a relatively smaller door than the crew. The link he post to the kicker amp and speakers says quad cab.

The Mopar catalog says the rears on the 09 are 6x9. No issue getting the speaker to fit as he is looking at the Kicker kit which is made for the truck.

77KICK29 Speaker Upgrade, 75 Watts, (2) 6 x 9, 2-Way

Thanks everyone for the responses. I ended buying 77KICK41 for the front, and 77KICK29 for the rear. I also purchased some fatmat to put on the doors. I'm hoping to get everything installed by Thurs/Fri (just placed order). I'll take some pics, which I hope helps others.

They are Mopar Kicker speaker kits. Although they come direct from Kicker (to the dealer), they are specially made for Mopar.

The kit part numbers are listed above. I would imagine the front number is for both the dash and door as that is a new number not listed previously for the Ram.

Hey Phatjoe,
Did you get those Kicker upgrades installed? I called Kicker today and they said they don't make anything for my 2010 QC yet. I told him I'd read about somebody ordering the Kicker 41/29 kits, but they said it would not work without the Alpine upgrade...
Thanks for any insight...
Joe
