I can't recall the exact fuse either, but in order to pull a dyno run I had to pull the ESP fuse, even a second gear run want helping. That was two years ago.

So how do u stop the traction control other than the dash switch which just minimizes it? I dont care about disabeling the brakes from working properly....

Ok. I realize im stupid. But what exactly is traction control ? When i push the button i get a truck sliding symbol on the dash. Does that mean now my truck will be more slippery on the road ? When do you want to push that button ?

I'm no mechanic but pretty sure traction control just measures wheel speed mostly. I think when it senses slip which comes from the wheel speed sensors the vehicle will automatically limit torque sent to the wheels and applies brakes to the front wheels to try and help you regain traction.
This feature is probably useful when it comes to hydroplaning or stuff like that but it is annoying as hell in the snow which is whyi took mine off by pulling a certain fuse. When you press the buttoon on the dash and the symbol with a car sliding comes on it tells you that your ESP systems sensitivity is reduced by about 50% I think.

Deep snow or deep mud mostly, when you have multiple wheels spinning and you want to keep them spinning in hopes that they grab something. You can't really rock the truck with the traction control on either.

And to the guy who said it goes nuts on ice under 5mph, you're exactly right. It goes into this odd unpredictable dance until it slides to a stop whichever way it wants to. My wife's Expedition does something similar. Kind of unnerving because my F250 without traction control used to just slide in a straight line until it stopped.

He's engaging the brakes though, that has nothing to do with traction control.

That does need to be done to smoke the tires like that though.
Pulling the fuse prevents the engine shutdown due to rear wheels spinning and front wheels not.
