EVIC Display
I'm a new owner of a Ram 1500 4 x 4. I have a question about the EVIC display in the enhanced instrument cluster. According to the owners manual the system status selection should show coolant temp, trans temp, oil temp, oil pressure and engine hours. My display does not show oil pressure or oil temp. When I asked the dealer about it he really didn't have a concise answer other than that's because I also have analog gauges. Well I also have an anolog coolant temp gauge and the temp also shows up in yhe EVIC display. Can anyone tell me if the oil information should show up in the digital display.
thanks

I can just seee it in 5 years from now these trucks will be unsellable, too many electrical problems and changes all at once, kinda like gm when the came out with those Toronados and Caddy with the digital dash and 70 new modules or something like that in one year..was a dud car. Well so far everything has been fixable and or work aroundable. We shall see. I love this truck, versatile, comfortable, not overly done for a half ton,
Back to topic, if you have EVIC you should be able to find these, I find some stuff you can't see unless you are in park.

Before you go to the dealer, try it one more time. Note that there are 4 arrow buttons on the front of your steering wheel on both sides and you need to use them all. One to move the curser up, one to move it down, one for left, and one for right.
When you start the truck up, move the curser till the arrow is next to "System Info". Then press the right arrow button to enter that menu. You can then scroll up and down to read the various temps and oil pressure.
The only menu you can't enter unless in Park is the "Setup" menu. It will show a lock beside it if shifted out of Park.
Once you see how easy it is, you will have one of those Dohh moments.

One thing to note, at least on mine, is if I go in at System Info, then scroll down to the 2nd or 3rd entry before hitting the right arrow, it will only let me scroll up and down from that point - nothing higher unless I go back, scroll up and then right arrow. Then I can scroll through all of them.
Getting to the system info readout is not a problem, but all the display will show is trans temp, coolant temp and engine hrs. I have run the arrows up and down in both park and while driving, no oil temp or pressure is ever present. I just want to make sure it is supposed to read on the display before I raise cane with the dealer. My very first vehicle in high school was a 49 Dodge truck with a flat head six and 3 on the floor, 6 volt system, 55 mph was about all it would deliver, man' has Dodge come a long way.
