Default Need help with re-install

Hey guys,

I took of my headlights the other day with intentions of installing HID's. I forgot i needed the cancellers so that was a waste of time. I put the passenger one back without issues, but the driver's side does not want to allign all the way to the fender. It bolts up alright, but there is this gap that just doesn't look right.... Did anyone else have this problem? To top it of, i broke the passenger tab for the grille while removing it I'm so pissed right now!

Any guidance is appreciated!

Also was the plastic slider lock disengaged when you installed the light? Double check to make sure it is then firmly press the side of the light that isn't flush. Probably just one of those snap in guide pins hung up. When I did mine it took me a couple trys

What do you mean i don't need cancellers? I installed the HId's, they flickered and than they turned of.

As for the tab, yeah, it was in the "up" disengage postion. I tried a dozen times, that gap won't close. Maybe it's the wiring harness that's in the way.......Guess I'll try that this pm, when i get back from work.

How did you get your HID's to work?

Hmm I had bought them thinking I'd need them but they work fine without, ended up giving them to my bro for his 08. I thought I read somewhere that you didn't need them on 09's but I could be wrong.

i have hids in my 09.. no cancelers needed..

maybe it has to do with the type of ballast you get.. maybe cheap ones don't regulate the power.. i dunno.. just guessing

and yeah i have that gap too.. I'm thinking i forgot to push down the plastic piece..

Maybe you're right, but the ones I have are 50w HID and by all means they weren't cheap. Granted that they are about 2 years old but they are still being sold on Ebay. Hmmmmm.....weird.

As for the gap, I'm glad I ain't the only one. Not sure if i feel like taking the grille apart and risk adding more scratches to the bumper. Might leave it as is. I did adjust the light and fogs last night, and i got to say, it made a big difference. Might not use the HIDs and just save them for my upcoming bike.
