Default 2009 Ram 1500 - Laramie Crew Cab 4x4

Hello.

I'm from europe and i'm looking to buy a new 2009 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4.
I found one by a dealer. But on the door of the dodge ram there is note hembi 5.7 RAM 2500.
Someone can tell my why there is 2500 on the door while it's a 1500.

Export versions that were headed to Mexico are labeled 2500. Not sure about europe though.

You can click this link to view the Mexican version which is labeled as a 2500.

I would wonder if it has the same rear suspension? I know they had a ramcharger in Mexico that did not come to Canada or the US.

From what I can find, the Mexican RAM is just the same, other than the badges. Oh, and they don't have as many trim levels.

That's cool you're in Europe and getting one. There's a guy on here that has one in Germany.

What's the point of having different badges? Is it heavier duty in relation to some of the crap sold out there that they pretend are trucks?

Could be different government regulations that allow them to call it a heavier truck than it is maybe to avoid pollution control or something who knows. But I hope they keep getting interested in our trucks and long as we build them in Michigan close the f...g Mexican plant.

Most Euro trucks are about the size of US mid-size. Of course that's even if you see one, non-commercial trucks in general are pretty rare over there. I guess when looking at a mid-size as a standard size, the RAM 1500 would look like a monster, so maybe that's why they call it a 2500. Of course this is a moot point, since RAMs aren't sold in Europe and the one Horank is buying is probably a Mexican RAM. Now why the hell Mexico would classify the RAM 1500 as a 2500 is beyond me.
