Default Water coming out of the oh-crap handle...

Any ideas where water would be leaking that is coming out of my front passenger oh-crap handle, I dont have a sunroof. Last week took my car through a brushless car wash and noticed nothing but yesterday during a rain storm, my wife got into the passenger side and noticed water coming out of the handle, she felt the floor and it was dry, so I am assuming it started when she got in. After it stopped raining about 2 minutes later the leak stopped. I later went and poured water all over the top of the cab to see if it did it again and sure enough about a couple minutes in the water started coming out of the handle. Any ideas?

It's either the seal around the windshield, or the gasket for the passenger door is bad. Go out and run water over the windshield corner, but try to keep it going near the door. Then try running the water over the door and keeping it off the windshield. One of them will leak.

Either way, I'd take it back to the dealer ASAP before the water can do some damage or mold something on the inside.

Its kinda hard to believe a new vehicle with only 500 miles could leak already especially if its the windshield leaking but thanks for the info, will go and do a pour test on each section.

Sometimes even the factory robots screw up and don't get something installed correctly. Just goes to show you they're not perfect after all.

My wife had a horrible leak on a convertible Cavalier she owned. Less than a week off the showroom floor and during the first rain the thing pours like a bucket right on the driver's left leg. In the end they had to fly in engineers from Detroit to figure out what all to replace. Of course that wasn't before a good two dozen trips to the service department.

Well that sucks. There was someone on this board a while back however, who mentioned having the same problem. Water leak, water coming out of the pillar handle. Passenger side I think they said. Hopefully when you take it in, it's a known problem that they can quickly resolve. If you definitavely pinpoint the leak location by any chance, post it on here. I doubt mine leaks, but I've never really checked it closely and am just curious now.

Well I tried pouring water on the top passenger part of the windshield, also poured water along the passenger side, and no leaks, so either it takes alot of water or its in the rear and draining forward. Not sure how its draining into the pillar handle I imagine its hollow but its only coming out of the top pillar screw area.

Someone on another board had the same problem and it turned out to be the sunroof drain, it was either kinked or clogged. According to the service rep the drain actually drains into the door and should be blown out with air every once and awhile.

Yeah I saw that that one, I dont have a sunroof though. Tonight went out again and tried to pour water and no leaks, I did find at least I thought I saw my windshield push in a bit in the top passenger corner but im tired so I could have been seeing things.

Well got my Ram back from the dealer, they told me the seal on the top corner of the windshield was the leak, they resealed it. They said the water was dripping into the cup part of the handle and would work its way through the screw cover. Also dealer said there was some sort of recall on the a/c and did a update via flash.
