Not every vehicle gets checked for everything, it's not required. They have to check so many per hour. Usually though for water leaks they tend to check all of them, could be a lazy person or it was a leaker just before time to go home and he didn't wanna have to clean up the water to he/she bought it off. It happens, funny people working on the line complain no time but if you go 20 minutes before time to go home everyone in each department is working 5 to 10 or sometimes more depending on the job, if you use portable tools for your job you can do it anywhere as long as you don't get in anyones way or put something on that can't be there before other stuff. I laughed at this guy he thought he was the big ****, he worked ahead glueing on side door rubbers on the Ram Van , well I can't exactly remember why they can't be put on before a certain point but everyone started letting their job go right at the end of the shift because of this rush of sliding doors just happened at that time so no mechanisms or rods. put it this was thedoors didn't work on 10 or so vans but he did not find out till the next day. 3 days off.

If you can find the leak yourself I would try real hard at least, around here they are fixed on certain days by yahoos that claim to know how to fix leaks on all cars. How do they know where every piece of sealer was supposed t be or that there were welds missing on my Neon causing a flood on the feet of the passenger every rainstorm. Went in several Wednesdays before they finally fixed it. I had to find the leak myself and show them.

Well this morning the leak returned not sure how long it had been leaking but I took it right away to the dealer. When I got there, they acted stumped, when I looked at the top of the windshield, they just added a white/clear glue of some kind to the top of the windshield, looks terrible. So I hear back from the dealer, they said they are having a window installer come out and pull the windshield out and re-seal it, now if they only did that the first time. So now im driving a Pt Cruiser as a rental till Monday.

So....my '09 Lone Star with 2300 miles is doing the exact same thing, pooling water in the driver oh crap handle and dripping out the screw holes. I called the dealer and they said it most likely was the door molding or windshield. Hmmm, now I'm not a rocket scientist, but how the heck could it be the door molding when the door molding has no effect on water getting into the headliner! And, I'm calling BS on the windshield because 1: my truck was parked downslope and windshield away from the rainfall, 2: I have driven in heavy rain with no problems, and 3: I've washed my baby several times with no issue either.

Here's my theory. Because of the angle of my truck, and the info posted about the 3rd brake light assembly, I'm 90% sure it's coming in there and running down the channel. I pulled the assembly and I must say there is hardly any seal not to mention if water gets any it's a straight shot to the oh crap handles if your parked just slightly nose down.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a winner to me, or how about the satellite antenna?

mine had a leak too, water poured in by the back seat of the driver side in the top corner. took it straight to the dealer to solve the problem while it was current. they said i had a bad seal on the back window and had to remove the whole thing to reseal it properly. so far, no issues.

Well on my first trip to the dealer they said it was the windshield, all they did was add some sealant to the top of the windshield, looks horrible. Next day it rained and here comes the leak again, so took it back in again, this time they said they would have the windshield pulled out and resealed, they come back and said the leak wasnt from the windshield but from the roof where the panel meets with the side panel, underneath the molding up top is where they weld the two pieces together and presto leak is fixed, no im not sure what they did to fix it but over a month no leaks.

I had a leak on my 2005 where the water was coming out of the driver's side oh **** handle screw points, just like these posts. The stealership determined it was my inner door molding. They resealed it (and made a mess that I had to clean up) but no more leak. My truck was about two years old when the leak appeared. I had it another two years with no further leaks, before I traded for this one.

I know that there were TSB's on the Gen 3's about leaks, especially with water coming through the oh **** handles. The four areas of concern were always windshield, front inner door molding, sun roof drain line (if equipped), and third break light or Sirius antennae.

I hope you leak is gone for good.

Not sure if this applies, but I have an 04 that has leaked since day one out that passenger side grab handle. There are 3 technical service bulletins, but the dodge dealer only told me of the first two.

1st says to take the weather strip off the door, and silicone around the screws, and reinstall. I siliconed the entire strip.

Still leaked.

2nd says to take the screws off the brake light, silicone the holes, reinstall, again, I siliconed the entire light, and still leaked.

Last week, I found the third bulletin, and it was dated 2003!!! so they have known about the problem since it was still under warranty, but didn't bother to do this fix or tell me how to do it myself.

WHY? Because it was a major job.

Remove all interior trim, drop the dome light and overhead computer, drop the entire head liner, and silicone the very back top passenger corner where the roof panel connects to the side panel. The robots missed a spot on that area and there is a 6" long gap where the water comes in, then it flows to the back window and comes in there and at the top screw on the grab handle. No wonder Dodge didn't want to do that to a couple million trucks. Took me over 2 hours.

Rained like crazy all this week and no more leaks, either at the back window or the handle!!!

I just wish I had known about it years ago.

I had the exact same thing happen to me!! Water poured through the pillar handle.
I took it to the dealer and they said that the robot in the factory didn't completely seal the urethane around the windshield, so they resealed it. GET THIS...
Last I get dressed up to go out and my first turn around the corner water starts poring through the cluster above where the garage opener, sun roof, and map lights are! I had to go back home cause it looked like I peed my pants because as I made the turn it came at me!!
Took it to Dodge this am, they said it could be a clogged drain in the sunroof (I do have one)!!!! If that is the case, holy crap is that unacceptable!!
