2009 ram prices/towing with hemi
So my dad is thinking about getting a 4th gen ram and I was wondering what some of you guys payed for yours? When I go to Dodge.com and build a ram the MSRP comes to $30,970 after the $4500 bonus cash. The truck I build is an 09 quad cab 2wd, lonestar, Hemi, 3.92 gears and a few other options. How much do you think I should pay for this truck when we go to the dealer? Is $25,00 to low cause I have read some stories on here of people getting $10-12k of MSRP? Another question, we would be getting it to mainly tow our 4500lbs travel trailer with so how would the Hemi do towing that much weight? I know it could tow it its just my truck can't keep the speed at 70mph while towing without downshifting all the time. I would just like to get some input from some of you guys who tow regularly with the Hemi.
Thanks
Thanks

I tow a 29 foot 7300lb renegade with no issues what so ever so you should be fine towing 4500lb. And to answer your question about the truck. I have a slt qc hemi with 392, big horn package, towing package, uconnect (touchscreen radio), console shift, mopar step bars. Sticker price was 38,900. and I ended up paying 28k for the truck before taxes. I did trade in my 1998 expedition for 4g's. But bottom line for the truck you quoted you should pay about 27-28 (before taxes) on a good deal.
The people who got 10 to 12k off their trucks were people who bought them earlier in the year. If you push really hard you might be able to get 8k off right now since the rebates are not as high as they used to be. bottom line is that you will love the truck and it will pull your trailer easily. If its the truck you want then dont hesitate to buy since there are still some deals out there to move the 09's to make room for the 2010's. And if the rear end sagging bothers you then just install some airbags in the rear coils....people here have done it and love it and my dad did it on his 08 superduty, its totally worth it to keep the truck level.
Thanks guys for your help. We are going on Saturday to look at them so I hope we can find a good one and get a great deal on it. As far as towing I am not concerned about the rear end sagging cause I will just get some airbags for it (I have them on my truck and they work great).
09 Crew Cab Hemi, big horn, bucket seats, step bars, chrome clad wheels - bought last week for $29,400 including ttl. MSRP was $37,040 plus the cost of the dealer-installed step bars.

Hey there. Im new to the Forum and i am a first time Dodge owner. I have been looking for a truck for over a year and I finally settled on a 09 RAM Crew Cab. So far I love it. Just had the Day Star leveling kit installed yesterday and love how 1.5 inches of lift made the truck look.
Sticker was 33905.00 walked out the door for 20905.00. At 13k off msrp I felt I got a pretty good deal. This was the advertised price no haggle at all walked in and said I'll take it.
Check the dealers web sites in your area. They often have one marked lower then another even though its the same truck.

Was that 13 off including a trade or just 13 off msrp?
