Ticking
Every hemi I have heard has a similar noise including my 06 charger. I do agree the the Hemi motors do tick more than others and I also agree that it is most likely caused by the lightweight oil they use.
LOL I had the same noise but it was not ticking and it came from under my ***, dealer said they installed them properly nothing they could do....just got my broinlaw to get under i pushed on nerf and he put rubber pieces between. I was not a tick was a hard rattle by the way. Funny had same problem on 2000 Dakota from dealer. I fixed it myself they screwed up one of the special nuts that had to be used instead on taking it out and straighting it so the screw would hit it they left it with a screw missing and a rattle.
I am really not too happy with service these days, like they want to take your money for nothing....I put in a unconnect system, dealer said .5 hours charge...52 bucks and takes half hour. So after 7 hours and 120 bucks I paid so my wife could leave there after spending the day without it working...Why did I have to pay. Customer Service is on them. Next day another dealer got it working...took them alll day but we got smart and left at lunch after I took it apart so they could inspect me installation job. Turned out the first dealer installed everything wrong, even the recalls. Lucky this dealership was nice enough to fix it all and got the unconnect working, charge....half hour to program, and half hour to basically take wires off and reconnect....turns out it was not my installation job nor the radio I installed nor the unconnect module. Why did I have the pay the first day? My question to the Customer Service...funny thing they did an oil change.....nobody told them to do that. I told Customer Service since they did the oil change I will eat that portion of the bill I am fair, it is close enough to oil change time but I was planning on starting to either do it myself or go to a dealer in town here, 20 bucks cheaper and closer.
Back on topic was there not a problem with HEMI ticking noise turned out to be valve spring issue a while back. I will not but up with ticking....if it's a HEMI noise then fix it.
Doesn't tick now and if it starts it will get fixed or they can keep it. I have some pretty poor reports in Customer Service 5 times I believe it was or 8...a lot to get the a/c fixed, when it was too hot outside you could hear and see the one fan stop with the a/c on. they changed everything, condenser, evaporator, everything except the relay I said get hot as hell and well that dealer won't work with me they had to pay back Chrysler for all the parts they did before the relay. They don't listen to use guys that build them...especially since I worked in repair for trim, chassis anything accept body and paint although they sent me to Motech years ago to learn how to paint when they came out with base clear on the minivan...they were short painters. I never did have to paint but had a good week learning. I love when they say I will bring the technician that worked on your truck so you can talk to him yourself and here walks up this guy not old enough to drink let alone work on my truck. That is the problem under training at the dealerships. I only got my uconnect done because one technician that got into it at the end knew exactly what to do but wasn't on my truck, had he been, we would have been outta there in 10 minutes.

Well I talked to Customer Service at Chrysler Canada about this BS about charging for services not completed. They agreed and since I was willing to eat 50 bucks of the bill, since they did an oil change and I was close to being due and I wanted to show that I am not after anything that I don't deserve. I called them to find out what was the dealio THE DEALER CUT ME A CHEQUE FOR 65 AND CHANGE FOR THE BS CHARGES FOR INCOMPLETE WORK. Can you believe it? Wow I better not go there for service any more LOL. I have a bug deflector there that I ordered but didn't pay for, wondering if I should get it or should I get it somewhere else?
