Default Retrax (Non-Electric)

Has anyone purchased the Retrax hard rollback tonneau cover? I'm about to purchase one but wanted to check and see if anyone had already done so and could comment on it? Thanks!

Jason, did you buy the Retrax? I'm considering it as well and was disappointed I didn't see any replies to your post...

Default Retrax is Great!

John,

Yes, there are a few of us who have bought the Retrax and I love it! Myself and zevrosenthal have the Retrax for the Rambox. There's one other guy here who has it for his truck that is a non-Rambox. zevrosenthal put up some pics. My truck is filthy right now from all the rain we just had so when I get it cleaned up, I will post pics. I love the Retrax though...looks great, sits flush, does everything it says it will and the customer service is great! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Yes, I think I’m leaning towards a Retrax at this point. My only hold-back is the 12” it takes up in my already short (6’) bed, but I think I’m going to live with that, I have a MegaCab and a 5’x10’ utility trailer so I think I’ll be fine.

Did I miss a group-buy, did you guys get it direct or through a dealer? Looks like MSRP is $999, not sure how much the shipping is.

John,

I called Retrax directly and got a great deal. I cannot remember the guy's name but I believe he's the main sales guy. That's the cheapest you'll find it so I'd quote those prices as those that a friend of your's paid recently when he called. They'll probably honor the same price for you.

So what price are you guys paying for the Retrex? Local dealer is wanting a little over $1000. Does not appear to be to hard to install so looking for a good online deal.

should be getting my ram 1500 crew cab sport with rambox on march 30th. doing line-x immediately and ordering the retrax. did a lot of homework with numerous tonneaus that i learned about from this site, n decided retrax is the way to go. spoke to jason over there just to get an idea of pricing. didnt bother haggling yet, but he said $1k plus $23 for tailgate weatherstrip plus $70 to ship to n.y.

was gonna go with bakflip f1....but not after reading that horror story. i would of flown down to bakflip n bakflipped them!

Retrax installed!

I really like the way it came out, very happy. Now I just need a Line-X and I'm done.

I had a Retrax in my old truck and loved it! The only downside, and you already mentioned it, is the fact that the rolled up cover takes up space in your bed. Even though I liked the Retrax with my new truck I will buy a soft tonneau cover like the Extang. Although not a "show stopper" issue, I am going to go with an option that doesn't take up extra space that may block me from getting full use of my 6'4" bed.
