Help with Removing Interior Lights
Hello,
I have a '09 Laramie and recently purchased a Putco replacement interior LED light bulb set. The rear dome light bulb was a piece of cake to replace. The trouble is with the two console overhead lights. I have no problem removing the overhead light covers. The problem is that I can't get the original bulbs out. The bulbs are recessed into the reflector. I have tried over and over, but I am unable to pull either of the bulbs.
Am I missing something here? Does anyone know of any trick, tool, or anything else that will help me remove these two bulbs?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can throw my way.

I just switched out all of my interior lights out with hyper-white LED lights and I found that the easiest way to get those two front overhead lights out was with a pair of angled needle nose pliers, the pair that I have are pretty small and it was able to get far enough behind the bulb where it tapers down. Squeeze lightly and wiggle it back and fourth (the pliers, not your A$$) and they will come right out. Just ensure that you don't put too much pressure on the bulb or it will break.
I got mine here: http://superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm
the website is pretty cool because they have a link to the sylvania website : http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/
this tells you about all the bulbs that our trucks have.
I changed out the Front and Back Interior overhead lights, Reverse lights, license plate lights, and the bed lights (the ones on the third brake light)
It was pretty cheap too, $47.13 including shipping
a bit of advice #1- I initially wanted to only change out the reverse lights to make them brighter so that I can see things better in the rear view camera, then I noticed how cheap they were so I decided to change them all out........BUT the LED bulbs that it tells you to replace the reverse bulbs with ARE NOT brighter than the stock ones, they just give out a hyper white type light but it doesn't light things up more. I suggest that you find some LED bulbs that put out more Lumens but have the same connector.
#2- it is going to tell you to replace the rear overhead light with a RL4410-xHP9 Rigid loop Festoon bulb-Cool White RL4410-CSHP9--Do not use this one!! this one has small loops on each end and it will not make contact with the receiver on the truck.
don't use this type: http://superbrightleds.com/specs/RL4410-xHP9.htm
USE THIS TYPE: http://superbrightleds.com/specs/festoon_4410-x9.htm
-see the difference on the ends?
**overall the LED's really look a lot better especially since they match the LED's that come stock on the Laramies under the rear view mirrors**
Hope this helps

LED lights tend to be directional... so if you stick em in your rear back up bulb spot they can just illuminate whats directly behind you... kinda like a flash light with a real fine focus spot.
Regular bulbs tend to throw the light in every direction... that is why (a) they require more power but produce less light (b) need a reflector in the housing to reflect out some of that light
LED tail light never have a reflecting surface because the light just comes straight out...
some LED bulbs are domed and spread the light out a light more evenly.. but the light inst very powerful and is usually only adequate for interior trim. to use them for you back up lights you would need like a 60 inch light bar across your tail gate.. like a go-recon unit

yeah me too!! i've been debating between cool white and natural white. I had cool white in my previous truck but have never seen the natural white...I want to match the factory puddle lamps as closely as possible!
