My friend has a Trailblazer SS....
.... and has been up my a** to race him. I have a feeling I will get beat. But I want to shut him up so bad. It's a 2WD and has a cold air kit and a few other things, but no computer mods. I've ridden in it and it hooks and hauls. Should I race him in my stock config or get some mods first?
just race him (on a track)... if you get beat then i hope it pisses you off and then you go buy stuff to make it faster.. if you win then you have bragging rights...
curb weight of a ss is about 4500 lbs.. about 4600 if awd
curb weight of a ram qc is about 5017...
since they both have about the same power (both rated at 390) im guessing in stock trim.. your gonna get smoked.... your truck weighs over 10% more

you wont keep up with him, not in your stock configuration. The SS model is more aggresively tuned than our trucks, maybe with a tune you could win....a 2x4 hemi QC with 3.92's has a good chance
Almost two years back I ran one in my 06 F150 w a stage II perf package ( custom dyno tune, intake, exhaust, efans, ud pulleys ) and he was on my a$$ at 120 mph. Was an open highway so not sure if he was toying or had enough to keep up but not enough to make the pass.
I have a 09 qc hemi with the 392 rear and my buddy has a trailblazer SS and he walks me. Not to hard but from a dig to about 100 he pulls about 4 lenghts on me. Those little ****ers dont play around. They have 400hp, 400tq, they weigh about 500lbs less then us, and they have 410 gearing. My buddy's SS only has a CAI and a magnaflow, Im bone stock but still cant see catching him unless we get a nice programmer that will work well with a CAI and exhaust. We need about 340 to the wheels to beat those SS's

I would give it a go on the highway from a 55 mph roll. I raced an 03/04 Ford Lightning on the highway and pulled him by two/three lengths until I hit the rev limiter hard. We exited and tried from a dig and he pulled me two/three lengths, but I started gaining until I ran out of road. Our trucks pull hard on the top end, but 0-60 leaves a lot to be desired.
