Default How tight is your door??

Over the past couple weeks I noticed what I would not call a rattle, but more of a rubbing or something loose in the drivers door. After listening and feeling around while driving (not recommended) I basically determined it was the door itself shaking when I hit bigger bumps/holes in the road.

I then rolled my window down and from the outside grabbed the door and shook it, I could actually feel the door move in and out. While not much, it was there. It is this play I feel is making the rubbing noise (it is the seals making the rubbing due to the slop in the door).

If you roll your window down, grab a hold and shake does your door have play as well? There is ZERO adjustment in the latch, I looked. I thought the two rubber stops may be the issue, but I tried "extending them out" by putting a washer behind them (made it worse) and tried with them off completely, no help.

I plan to stop at the dealer today for a few things, this being one of them. Just curious if your doors do the same thing.

My driverside rear door has a similar issue... But it's not worth a separate visit to the Dealership... It's on the List...

My driver's side door has started to give a rubbing sound. I believe it is where the two panels meet(just above the arm rest). I can push on the panel and make the rubbing sound. I've got to take mine in for the HVAC Control Head Module recall and I'll get that done with someother things.

If I shake my door from the outside and listen near the latch I can hear it rattle.

No idea what they will do, my first guess is replace the latch and strike plate. Of course I do not expect them to have that in stock so first visit will be useless, which is tomorrow.

Should be able to adjust it, without replacing. Too much variance in bodies to have a fixed latch setup.

You would think so, but I saw not such adjustment on the latch or strike plate.

Did you remove the screws? The adjustment is usually small slots which are covered by the washer on the screws holding the latch assembly.
