Default Left hand pocket in dash.

Just how does it remove.Wanting to mod it for a brake controller and two of us fooled around with it and saw no obvious way to remove it.

Got it out.BIG HAMMER smash twice then remove broken pieces. No not really.Drop lower panel under steering column.Pull weatherstrip loose on left side of dash.Pull the large cover off left side of dash.Pull screw next to steering column, pull screw at tab on left side of dash.Pocket removes. Now a dremel tool to modify it.

Ran into the same problem. My buddy gave it a good pull and ripped that plastic ear open, on the screw your talking about. I modified the pocket and mounted the controller then used my dremel to clean up the end of the broken ear. Basically I snapped the ear behind that screw. For the life of me I could figure out how to get that dang screw out.

Guy at a trailer store installing my 5th wheel rails wanted to yank on it until it came out.I said NO you don't.I should have started to remove some pieces yesterday.I took it out this morning.Put it back and will get me a cutter bit for my DeWalt later today and modify it and install my controller.

That must be what that spot is for an OEM trailer brake since the wiring for it is like right behind it

I butchered the back of that pocket and my brake controller fits in it pretty darn good.Plus side is the controller can be wiggled and removed easy.Un plug it and store it or what not.Now to get the Gulfstream fifth wheel and see how it pulls.
