Advice for Showdown
Don't worry and or cut yourself short Prince, I've beaten two of them but I have a short wheelbase regular cab. It was a good truck race but they both quit half way through the race. My closest race and victim was a Pontiac GT G8, and we raced three times on a 30 ml stretch of highway three times with me shutting down at 105 and knowing I passed the quarter mile mark. Tundra and Ram are pretty much equal even though he has the 430 gears, you can beat him. I pulled both Tundras out of the hole, but like I said, I have the weight advantage. I did see a shortbed 5.7 Tundra in my neighborhood the other day but I didn't get to talk to him. It was nice looking (champagne gold color) and similar to mine and I'm gonna be hunting this guy for a good race win or loose. Most importantly, I hope to make friends with him to share info with each other race or not. They are both good trucks, but Hail to the Cheif, the Hemi!
Good Luck
The track is quite sticky from all the other cars leaving and the traction compound they spray down. I remember my first trip down the track. I was in my Lightning and had no idea what I was doing. I waited until the green lit and put it to the mat. Spun the tires through second gear. Guys were coming up to me afterwards telling me it looked liked a top fuel dragster doing a burnout.
Unless you are practicing on the track you wil run in similar conditions it does no (ok little) good. Look at how drag and stock cars change through the course of one race.
I just have to chime in here. Last night I had my second encounter with a Tundra. I went out of my way to get lined up with him at the light and I got my wish. Once again, it was all Hemi all the way and I roasted him out of the hole. By 60 he was at least 3 truck lengths back and dropping, I had the time to study with such a lead
Coming up on a truck in front of me and with him well behind me, I politely hit my RH signal, enjoyed his lane a tad before signaling back into my lane. At that point I just gave some brake lights out, called it done and slowed to the speed limit of 45. He wasn't quite done though, still had to scream past me and then signal left and get in front of me. OK, fine by me cause you have been spanked dude. I don’t know if all Tundra’s have 4.30 rear ends but I don’t think they are enjoying any more advantage out of the hole then a Hemi with 3.92’s. From a dead stop nether one of us ever broke tires loose (that I heard) so I suspect they must also suffer some form of TC. At mid-high (30-60) power band is where the Hemi *really* put the distance between us. That’s 2 Tundra’s down now and with plenty of margin, I likely will not go out of my way to run another one unless it’s a RC and I have never seen one anywhere except once in Hawaii. Don't worry so much about your race, just do it. As 1954Radio says Win or lose they are both quick trucks.
Way to go Hemi ROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes, all 5.7 Tundras have 430 gears, the smaller V8 has the 410's, at least the 09's do. I guess this loooser you ran will be bragging about his win in his forums along with the rest of the liars who beat the Hemi, lol. But what in the heck is an RC, is it like an RT Ram?

All 5.7 tundra come with the 4.30 gears except the sport models like mine which come with the 4.10's. The 4.30's are more for towing, while the sports with the 4.10s dont even have a hitch, are a lot lighter due to different front and rear bumpers, as well as the hitch delete. We also have pretty bad TM. If the computer senses the tires breaking loose, it will cut timing and power. This can be disabled as well as all the other nanies to a certian extent. Are LSD has to be turned on as well. Kind of a funky setup, but it helps a little at the track.
There have been more than a few stock RCSB tundras to break into the 13's. Last I read, R/T's do 14.4 in the quarter. I know V8440 did his 14 flat, and he's not even an R/T, so there is potential there. I seriously doubt any of the tundra owners claiming victory over the hemis are lying, but at the same time it's believable that rams will take the other 50% of the time. Both are very close in performance, and put down the same numbers at the wheel. Ive got about 2 09 ram under my belt as well, and it was about 3 lengths if not more as well. Nothing to brag about since im a lot lighter.

As far as the R/T, with a 2WD RCSB making 14 flat that leaves only a faster time for a similiar truck with 4.10's and higher stall. 0 to 60 is 5.7 seconds on the R/T Ram, damn quick for "a truck". While I am a little lighter than a 2WD DC Tundra its not a whole lot. If you know this, and I know this, then he should have known it - I didn't make him run me
Why were his tires so small? Are some configured with 15's (?) or do they just look small in those wheel wells. Is it a 2WD thing or just the way any Tundra can come configured?

Believe me man, unless he gets a custom tune, that chip of his may be in your favor. The can tunes they send out are crap, and may actually hurt his times. Some tundra owners have lost power, gotten slower, CELs, and had stalling with the can tune they send out. A custom tune is a must with the unichip, and tuners are far and few between.
However, if he does have it custom tune, a little 50 shot of nitrous might be a good idea. Toyota was pretty conservative with our 5.7's.

Thanks for the info on the Tundra's I was not aware of how they are configured gear wise. Good to know we are not the only ones with TM!

Is it a 2WD thing or just the way any Tundra can come configured?I have to apologize to you, for the liar thing. It is meant that in this case, the Tundra didn't want to claim the loss and take his lick by knowing the race was over and getting in from of Hemi Rom after he shut down. The same would go to any poor looser whether it be Ram or Tundra, they would most likely not admit the loss, especially in a forum lol. My niece has a Tundra with the next size smaller V8 4.something, I forgot but with 410 gears. But they do make a shortbed regular cab 5.7 with 430 gears, I saw one. That would probably be the fastest one, I assume. It looks very similar to the 09 Ram to me, looks mean too! It also looked like it had 18" chrome clad rims but not I'm not sure. If I have time, I would like to go look at some and maybe test drive one or two. Also, my truck (RCSB) has 392's with 17" wheels which pretty much puts me equal to the RT's 410's on 20's which are around 2"+ taller. I think it's fair to say that I have the advantage over the larger trucks as well. Anyways, sry again for the remark, I should have been more considerate to you as a guest here and explained it differently. Incidentally, in most all of the utube vids I usually see the Titans beating up on the Hemis and Tundras and those are the slowest trucks that I've raced yet. What gives with that, I know the Tundras would smoke them as well as the Hemis but don't see many of our wins on utube.
Crappy thing about our tuner is its basically a piggy back. All that can be tuned it AFR and timing. Nothing is out to change shift points, change the rpm limiter, or remove the speed limiter.
