what are people paying
Then you didn't pay 21K. You paid 26,500. If you had a trade value of 26,000 would you claim you paid $500?
But again I see your point.

There is no "point" about it. It's extremely misleading when people don't mention their trade and you get a new forum member reading this and they go down to their dealer trying to get this deal, dealer laughs at them, then they come home pissed because some guy on the Web told him it's doable.
You got 12K off sticker, which is more common. Your deal was in your trade.
Thanks for serving our country by the way.

I see your point, but considering the appreciation value was only on paper, I don't consider it money spent, earned or lost. Like I mentioned before, I only paid $15K for the other truck. Had I tried to sell it outright to a private party I would have been lucky to break even. I drove the truck for an entire year for the cost of gas and insurance premiums and still made $5500.
But again I see your point.

I agree with the other poster oldjeep and also huskerram. You claim it's no money lost, but who knows what the deal was on the truck before. Did you trade in a vehicle when you purchased it? In any case, you have to apply that cash as "money down" since it's not realistically what people should expect to be able to negotiate in the deal. This is no different than someone who claims to have gotten some crazy deal, but then forgets to mention their dad owns the dealership!
PS- I too appreciate your service!!! It sounds like you might be well qualified to do some goverment accounting work if you want to continue your career in the government
Nate, if I understand correctly, you paid $36740 for the truck (since you put down $9K)? I do understand you also got some sort of ext warranty for that price, but you might leave that out of the equation to better provide an idea of your actual purchase price since it looks like a not so great deal with that included, but in reality could be a pretty good deal depending on the warranty you got.
If I read that right, 8,400 for TTL, Alarm and lifetime bumper to bumper? if I am reading that right, you got a good price on the truck but they got you on that end in my opinion. But maybe I misread it.

First and formost, I didnt realize that this thread was a purchasing tool for others interested in buying Gen IV Rams so I didnt go into the meat and potatos of the deal.
IF I had known, I would laid it all out there in the beginning. The title simply states "what are people paying" I signed a document with the number $21,009.07 on it. Established ground rules make it easier to get a desired result, hell i would have given you my credit score if you would have asked for it...that is the biggest factor in purchasing a new vehicle anyway.
I honestly thought this thread was for entertainment purposes and fun. It is the internet after all and 60% of the crap on it is BS anyway.
Sorry if I upset or offended anyone. I was hoping to get my post count to 150 before I started p!ssing people off.
