i don't know about the newer trucks, but i installed them on my 1999. and they had the holes marked on the under side of the roof (after lowering the headliner) all you had to do was drill them out.

Sorry to chime in so late on this, but I just found the forum. I bought the Recon smoked lights for my black '07 Ram and they looked awesome... but they leaked continually. Never had a single leak into the cab, but water kept getting INSIDE the lights and eventually corroding the contacts to where a light would start to flicker, dim, then go out. I looked like a rolling disco show going down the road.

I called Recon a number of times, and 3 different times they sent me 3 replacement lights. Aside from the fact that I had to take apart the inside of the truck to swap out the light, they never corrected the problem. I took apart one of the lights and found that the top lens sits in the base and it just isn't watertight, and the water was getting in from the top... you could actually see the moisture progressing into the light.

Since I had 15 holes drilled in my roof I eventually yanked them all off, threw them in the trash where they belonged and installed OEM lights. The amber lights didn't look nearly as good on a black truck, but no problems afterwards!

Personally, I'll never buy another Recon product.

Those look sick, would love to put the smoke ones on the top of my black truck. I wonder if they make LEDs that fit inside them, I think they'd look cooler with blue/white light coming out of them then amber.

You could always just spray-tint (Nite Shade) your OEM cab lights.

Great idea! I probably should have posted when I had the problems but I had such bad luck not only with that truck but with just about every aftermarket product I tried I was thoroughly disgusted... lights, tailgate lock, brakes, leveling kit... none of it worked out on that rig. I think it was cursed!

Those recon smoked ones look pretty damn good.

On the 4th gens, is the connector in the passenger side A-arm as well??
